Sujon Sokhi
''Sujon Sokhi'' ( bn, সুজন সখী) is a 1975 Bangladeshi film directed by Khan Ataur Rahman. The film was remade in West Bengal(India) in 1995 with the same title, which was directed by Swapan Saha. The film received critical acclaim, particularly for the performance given by Kabori Sarwar, who won Bachsas Award for Best Actress. Both Sabina Yasmin and Abdul Alim earned Bangladesh National Film Awards for the song "Sob Sokhire Par Korite". Plot Lokhman, his wife and their son Sujon live with his step mother, step brother Solaiman and his pregnant wife whom Lokhman and his wife detest. Khan Ataur Rahman
Khan Ataur Rahman (known as Khan Ata; 11 December 1928 – 1 December 1997) was a Bangladeshi film actor, director, producer, screenplay writer, music composer, and singer, best known for his role in the film ''Jibon Theke Neya'' (1970). He received the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Screenplay for the films ''Sujon Sokhi'' (1975) and ''Danpite Chhele'' (1980). He was awarded Ekushey Padak posthumously in 2003 by the Government of Bangladesh. Bachsas ( Bangladesh Cholochitra Sangbadik Samity) Awards was introduced in 1972 to encourage the fledgling film industry of the country. Abdul Alim (folk Singer)
Abdul Alim (27 July 1931 – 5 September 1974) was a Bangladeshi folk singer. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer in 1975 for playback in ''Sujan Sakhi''. He was posthumously awarded the Ekushey Padak in 1977 and Independence Day Award in 1997 by the Government of Bangladesh. Career Alim migrated from Murshidabad to Dhaka after the partition of India in 1947, and joined the Dhaka Radio Station as a staff artiste. By the age of 14, he had recorded two songs. In Dhaka, he took lessons from Mumtaz Ali Khan and Mohammed Hossain Khosru. He got his breakthrough while performing songs at the Alia Madrasah in Calcutta. He was awarded five gold medals for his performances and contributions to music at the All Pakistan music conference in Lahore. Alim recorded over 300 Gramophone records. Siraj Haider (6 February 1948 – 11 January 2018) was a Bangladeshi actor and director. He acted in over 400 films. He also directed two films. He acted in television, stage, radio and jatra too. Sabina Yasmin (born 4 September 1953) is a Bangladeshi singer. She is best known as a playback singer in Bengali cinema. Sarah Begum Kabori (also Kabori Sarwar; born Mina Pal, 19 July 1950 – 17 April 2021) was a Bangladeshi film actress and politician.
