Suicide And Sunshine
''Suicide and Sunshine'' is the fourth studio album by Australian punk rock band, Trophy Eyes, released on 23 June 2023 by Hopeless Records. It was produced by Shane Edwards and Fletcher Matthews at Studio 28 in Bangkok, Thailand. Background and promotion ''Suicide and Sunshine'' began as a sort of swansong of sorts for the band of ten years, having decided to break up amid the COVID-19 pandemic. According to John Floreani, "A lot of what we were doing n this albumis just expressing ourselves freely". The title of the album, ''Suicide and Sunshine','' comes from Sean''', a track detailing the heartbreak Floreani experienced after his friend ended his life. According to Floreani, it was sunny when he heard of Sean's passing. Trophy Eyes is an Australian punk rock band from Newcastle, formed in 2013. They are currently signed to Hopeless Records. The band currently consists of vocalist John Floreani, bassist and backing vocalist Jeremy Winchester, lead guitarist Andrew Hallett, and drummer Blake Caruso. Their single "Hurt" was ranked No. 135 on Triple J's Hottest 100. Other Hottest 100 appearances include No. 101 in 2016 with "Chlorine" and No. 93 in 2018 with "You Can Count On Me". Hopeless Records is an American independent record label in Van Nuys, California. History Hopeless Records was founded in 1993 by Louis Posen. The label's artists are generally considered to fall under the genres of punk rock, pop punk, post-hardcore, and alternative rock, but some also include elements of heavy metal. Shane Edwards
Shane Edwards (born 25 October 1988) is a former Australian rules football player who played for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is a three-time premiership player, an All-Australian and has three times placed in the top five in Richmond best and fairest awards. He holds the Richmond club records for most games by any Indigenous player and most games by any player in the number 10 guernsey. Edwards is on record as saying he would like to go into recruitment and list management at the end of his AFL playing career. ''The American Dream'' is the third studio album by Australian rock band Trophy Eyes, released on 3 August 2018 by Hopeless Records. It was produced by Shane Edwards at Karma Sound Studios in Thailand. It was the first album to feature new drummer Blake Caruso, and the final album to feature rhythm guitarist Kevin Cross. Background and promotion Trophy Eyes released their first single "You Can Count on Me" on 29 May 2018, along with an accompanying music video. Their second single "More Like You" was released on 25 June. The band released their third single "Friday Forever" on 30 July along with an accompanying music video.
