Suhrental
The river Suhre is a 34 kilometer long tributary of the river Aare in the Swiss cantons of Lucerne and Aargau. The river rises in Sempachersee (or Lake Sempach) at an elevation of 504 meters above sea level, and joins the Aare east of the town Aarau at an elevation of 362 meters. The most important side valley is the Ruedertal, which joins the Suhretal (or Suhre Valley) at Schöftland. In the medieval age, the river had several names: ''Suron'' (1036), ''Suranum flumen'' (1210), ''Sure'' (1241). Today, the name is written without "h" in the canton of Lucerne, and with "h" in the canton of Aargau. The most important tributaries are the Ruederchen joining at Schöftland, the Ürke joining at Unterentfelden and the Wyna joining at Suhr. A1 Motorway (Switzerland)
The A1 is a motorway in Switzerland. It follows Switzerland's main east–west axis, from St. Margrethen in northeastern Switzerland's canton of St. Gallen through to Geneva in southwestern Switzerland. The motorway spans 383 km (240 mi). Besides the motorway's main route, it has several branches that are variously numbered A1a, A1h, A1l and A1.1. It was opened for the Swiss national exhibition of 1964. Holziken
Holziken is a municipality in the district of Kulm in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland. History Holziken is first mentioned in 1306 as ''Helzinkon''. The major land holders in the village included the Abbey of St. Gall and knights that were vassals of the Habsburgs. Between 1415 and 1798 the village was under the authority of the city of Bern. In 1528 the Protestant Reformation was introduced in the village. Under the short lived Helvetic Republic, it belonged to the Zofingen district. Then, in 1803 it became part of the Kulm district in the newly formed Canton of Aargau. The main economic sources, in the 18th and 19th centuries, were agriculture and home cotton processing. The Wyna (or Wyne) is a river located mostly in canton of Aargau, but also in canton of Lucerne, Switzerland and runs through the ''Wynetal'' (the Wyne Valley). It is a tributary of the Suhre.
