Sugar Refinery, Čukarica
Sugar Refinery in Čukarica or Old Sugar Factory ( sr, Фабрика шећера на Чукарици / Стара шећерана) is a defunct industrial complex in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Built in 1901, it was the first sugar factory in Serbia. In 1984 it was placed under protection as a cultural monument. Location The factory complex is located at 3 and 3-a ''Radnička'' street, in the municipality of Čukarica. On the west, south and east it is encircled by the ''Paštrovićeva'' street, which on the east separates it from the Belgrade Hippodrome and the neighborhood of Careva Ćuprija. To the north, across the ''Radnička'', is the Sava river's Bay of Čukarica and Belgrade's popular recreational zone, Ada Ciganlija. To the northwest it borders another industrial complex, the reservoirs of Naftna Industrija Srbije, Jugopetrol. Fabrika (russian: Фабрика; ''Factory'' in English) is a Russian-Ukrainian Pop music, pop girl group, originally founded Moscow. Initially a four-piece, Fabrika was created from four female participants from the first season of the Russian musical reality show ''Fabrika Zvyozd'' in 2002, and included Irina Toneva, Sati Kazanova, Alexandra Savelyeva and Maria Alalykina.. The line-up has had several profound changes since then. Long time a fully Russian group, Fabrika later acquired two Ukrainian-born members, Oleksandra Popova (2014-2021) and Mariya Honcharuk (2019-2022). As of 2019, Toneva remains the only original member of the line-up.
