''Sugar Jones'' is the only studio album by Canadian pop and R&B girl group Sugar Jones. The album's first single "Days Like That", sold 8,762 copies in the first week of release and reached atop the Canadian Singles Chart. The album was released on June 26, 2001, and was a commercial success, debuting at number 2 on the Canadian Albums Chart and being certified platinum. Singles "Days Like That" and "How Much Longer" were among the top 100 most played radio tracks in Canada in 2001; #22 and #42, respectively. Sugar Jones
Sugar Jones was a Canadian all-female pop group created on the first season of the Canadian version of ''Popstars'' in 2001. It consisted of five members chosen from thousands of contestants who auditioned all over Canada in hopes of gaining a spot in the group. In 2001, they released their debut and only album, which was self-titled, in the summer of 2001, that featured the singles "Days Like That" (a cover of the Fierce song) and "How Much Longer", both gaining fair amount of airplay on Canadian Radio throughout 2001. Metalworks Studios is a music recording studio in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It was established in 1978 by Gil Moore of the Canadian rock group, Triumph. Over a span of 40 years, Metalworks has been the recipient of Canadian Music Week's 'Studio of the Year' 17 times. The Canadian Singles Chart was a chart compiled by the American-based music sales tracking company, Nielsen SoundScan, which began publication in November 1996. It was published every Wednesday and also published on Thursday by '' Jam!''/Canoe. It was superseded by the '' Billboard''-published Canadian Hot 100 in 2007. History In the 1960s, the Canadian music industry was disparate and regionally focused, and English-speaking Canadian artists were often overlooked in favour of American acts. Toya Alexis (born July 16, 1980) is a Canadian vocalist and actress from Ajax, Ontario. Career Alexis won a "Rising Star" contest and sang at the Apollo Theater. Solitair
Sheldon Pitt, better known by his stage name Solitair, is a Canadian rapper and record producer from Toronto, Ontario. He is a founding member of the now defunct Black Jays record label and production team. Solitair has been producing hip hop and R&B for nearly 20 years, and has produced for Nina Sky, Glenn Lewis, Cham, Maestro, Rascalz, Kardinal Offishall, Ivana Santilli, Jully Black, Choclair, and Sugar Jones among others. In the late 1990s, Solitair was part of a hip-hop collective known as "The Circle". In 1998, he released his first 12" single, "Silver Surfer".
