Sugar And Spice (Australian TV Series)
''Sugar and Spice'' is an Australian children's television series that was broadcast on ABC TV between 1988 and 1989. Starring Radha Mitchell as Pixie Robinson and Michelle Kearley as Molly Wilson, the series was set in the 1920s and revolved around two eleven-year-old girls from the Australian bush, who were sent to live with Pixie's grandmother to attend the same private high-school in the city. The Complete Series was released on DVD in 2008 by Force Entertainment. Children's television series (or children's television shows) are television programs designed for children, normally scheduled for broadcast during the morning and afternoon when children are awake. They can sometimes run during the early evening, allowing younger children to watch them after school. The purpose of these shows is mainly to entertain or educate. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is the national broadcaster of Australia. Puffin Books
Puffin Books is a longstanding children's imprint of the British publishers Penguin Books. Since the 1960s, it has been among the largest publishers of children's books in the UK and much of the English-speaking world. The imprint now belongs to Penguin Random House, a subsidiary of the German media conglomerate Bertelsmann. History Four years after Penguin Books had been founded by Allen Lane, the idea for Puffin Books was hatched in 1939, when Noel Carrington, at the time an editor for '' Country Life'' books, met him and proposed a series of children's non-fiction picture books, inspired by the brightly coloured lithographed books mass-produced at the time for Soviet children. Esme Melville (born Esme Grace Mount-Melville, 23 July 1918 – 14 September 2006) was an Australian theatre, television and film actress. At the Tropfest awards for 2003 she won Best Actor – Female for her role of Granma in the short film, ''Forbidden''.
