Michiko Suganuma
is a leading Japanese '' Kamakura-bori'' artist using a technique she calls ''Wagae-nuri''. She is the only Japanese female to have presented her collection at exhibitions of National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne. Her works are held in the collection of the gallery. Career After graduating from Joshibi University of Art and Design, Michiko Suganuma studied Kamakura-bori, a traditional form of lacquerware in her 20s. She opened her first studio in 1977. For 12 years from 1985 she was a visiting teacher at primary schools in Zushi, Kanagawa. Selected exhibitions and collections In 1984 Michiko Suganuma had an exhibition of her ''urushi-ware'' and ''Kamakura-bori'' work at the National Gallery of Victoria. The gallery purchased Michiko's ''urushi-ware'' called Cinnabar Red lacquer then. Minoru Suganuma
is a former Japanese football player. Playing career Suganuma was born in Saitama on May 16, 1985. He joined J1 League club Kashiwa Reysol from youth team in 2002. He debuted in October and played several matches as forward every season. He was loaned to Brazilian club Vitória in 2005 and J2 League club Ehime FC in 2006. At Ehime, he became a regular player as offensive midfielder and scored 11 goals. In 2007, he returned to Reysol. He played as regular offensive midfielder. However Reysol was relegated to J2 end of 2009 season and his opportunity to play decreased in 2010. In July 2010, he moved to J1 club Júbilo Iwata. He played many matches as substitute midfielder and won the champions in 2010 J.League Cup. However he could hardly play in the match in 2013. In 2014, he moved to Sagan Tosu. Morito Suganuma
is a Japanese aikido teacher holding the rank of 8th dan in the Aikikai . Born in Fukushima, Japan, his first contact with aikido was in 1963 at the Asia University in Tokyo where he followed a class taught by Nobuyoshi Tamura. The next year, Tamura introduced him to the Aikikai Hombu Dojo where he started training assiduously under Morihei Ueshiba, Kisshomaru Ueshiba and other prominent Hombu instructors. He officially became an uchideshi in 1967 after graduating from university. On 19 April 1970, shortly after the death of Morihei Ueshiba, Suganuma was sent to Fukuoka by Kisshomaru Ueshiba as the Aikikai's representative for the Kyūshū district. He is the founder and dojocho of Aikido Shoheijuku Dojo, which today encompasses about 70 dojo and 4000 students. Suganuma Sadamitsu
(1542–1604) was a samurai commander of the Suganuma clan during Japan's Sengoku period. Originally serving under the Imagawa clan, until the year of 1560, Sadamitsu then entered the service of the Tokugawa. After years of loyal service to Tokugawa Ieyasu in battles such as Anegawa and Nagashino, in 1601 he was granted a 20,000-koku fief in Nagashima in Ise province.
