Sufi Budhal Faqeer
Sufi Budhal Faqeer (1865–1939) ( sd, صوفي ٻُڍل فقير ) was a Sufi saint and poet, and disciple of Hizbullah Shah Rashdi. Faqeer's poetry was collected by his disciples and published in a book called ''Risalo Budhal Faqeer''.Baloch, N.B. (1984). ''Kafiyoon-1'', p. 288. Sindh Adabi Board, Jamshoro. Much of what is known about his life is through Sufi tradition, and separating it from historical reality is difficult. Birth Sufi Budhal Faqeer was born in 1865 CE in the village of near Shikarpur, Pakistan, Shikarpur, Sindh where his father Abdul Wasih. It was the time of British colonisation. It was the time of prosperity for people in farming. Abdul Wasih, calm and humble nature, was childless. He dearly yearned for a child. One day bare-feet Qalandar (title), Qalandar came at his door and told him, "Need not worry. Very soon you will have a son. Give him the name 'Budhal'". Shikarpur, Pakistan
Shikarpur ( sd, شڪارپور and ) ') is city and the capital of Shikarpur District in Sindh province of Pakistan. It is situated about 29 km west of the right bank of the Indus, with a railway station, 37 km north-west of Sukkur. It is the 42nd largest city of Pakistan by population according to the 2017 census. History According to a few historians the city of Shikarpur was revived during the Kalhora rule and that was what brought about a turnaround in making it the financial capital of not only South Asia but also of Central Asia. Some people think that the city was founded by Kalhoras' cousins Daudpotas --- and it was named Shikarpur because the Talpur Mirs were fond of shikar (hunting). Another school of thought believes Shikarpur was admittedly there before the shikar-loving Talpurs arrived on the scene; for another, Shikarpur has always been a trading and banking center, and never a hunting lodge.
