Suffolk Women Cricket Team
The Suffolk Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Suffolk. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Wamil Way, Mildenhall and Woolpit CC, Woolpit. They are captained by Natalie Samuels. In 2019, they played in Division Three of the final season of the Women's County Championship, and have since competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. They are partnered with the regional side Sunrisers. History Suffolk Women joined the county system in 2007, competing in the County Challenge Cup, the lower tier of the Women's County Championship, in which they lost all three of their games. 2021 Women's Twenty20 Cup
The 2021 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2021 Vitality Women's County T20, was the 12th cricket Women's Twenty20 Cup tournament, taking place in April and May, with 36 teams taking part: 34 county teams plus Scotland and Wales. There was no overall winner, with Hertfordshire, Nottinghamshire, Lancashire, Kent, Gloucestershire and Somerset winning their respective regions. The 2020 tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and, following a restructuring of women's cricket in England that saw the ending of the Women's County Championship, the Twenty20 Cup was the only nationwide tournament featuring county sides in 2021. The Championship was won by Kent who recorded their seventh championship, setting a new record for the number of championships won. The runners-up were Sussex. Lauren Smith (cricketer)
Lauren Georgia Smith (born 6 October 1996) is an Australian cricketer who plays as a right-arm off break bowler and right-handed batter. Smith was selected to play her first Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) match for the New South Wales Breakers at the age of 18. In her debut WNCL match she took four wickets for 36 runs in her ten overs. Smith previously played for the Sydney Sixers in the Women's Big Bash League before being recruited to play for the Sydney Thunder ahead of the 2020–21 season.
