The Ohio State League was a minor league baseball league that operated in numerous seasons between 1887 and 1947, predominantly as a Class D level league. Harvey Scott "Suds" Sutherland (February 20, 1894 – May 11, 1972) was a professional baseball player from 1914 to 1927. He played a portion of the 1921 season in Major League Baseball as a pitcher and outfielder for the Detroit Tigers. Sutherland compiled a 6–2 record and a .407 batting average with the Tigers. He also played for six seasons in the Pacific Coast League as a pitcher for the Portland Beavers (1919-1920, 1922–1923) and Seattle Indians (1924-1925), compiling an 81–84 record and 3.38 earned run average (ERA). Gene Arlan "Suds" Fodge (July 9, 1931 – October 27, 2010) was a pitcher in Major League Baseball who played briefly for the Chicago Cubs during the season. Listed at , Weight: 175 lb., Fodge batted and threw right-handed. He was born in South Bend, Indiana. Fodge was a 1950 graduate of South Bend Central High School, lettering in baseball, basketball and tennis. He was originally signed by the Cubs as an amateur free-agent in 1950, and was assigned to Class-D Janesville Cubs in 1951. Suds Merrick (died 1884) was a New York river pirate and member of the Hook Gang during the 1870s. Merrick, along with Tommy Shay, James Coffee and Terry Le Strange, operated in the New York waterfront and involved in burglary and pickpocketing as well as raiding the nearby vessels anchored in the Hudson River. Foams are materials formed by trapping pockets of gas in a liquid or solid. A bath sponge and the head on a glass of beer are examples of foams. The Sydney University Dramatic Society (SUDS) is the premier body for the production of undergraduate theatre at the University of Sydney. Established formally in 1889, with performances dating back to 1883, the society is the oldest continual theatre company in Australia, and one of the oldest student theatre groups in the world.
