Sudhin Das
Sudhin Das (; 30 April 1930 – 27 June 2017) was a Bangladeshi Nazrul Sangeet musician. He was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life and career Das was born in Bagichagaon, Comilla, to Nishi Kanta Das and Hemprabha Das on 30 April 1930. Das started learning music at Sangeet Shikhharthee Sammilan in Comilla, established by his elder brother Suren Das in 1942. Das was enlisted in Radio Pakistan when he was a college student in 1948. In 1985, after finishing his learning, Das moved to Dhaka and joined as a member of the ''Nazrul Sangeet Promanikoron Board'' at Nazrul Institute. He taught Nazrul Sangeet to the young artists of the institute. Personal life Das was married to Neelima Das. She is also an artist of Nazrul Sangeet. She also received Nazrul Padak and Channel i Lifetime Achievement award. His niece Alaka Das is an artist of Classical and Nazrul Sangeet. Comilla
Comilla (; bn, কুমিল্লা, Kumillā, ), officially spelled Cumilla, is the fifth largest city of Bangladesh and second largest in Chittagong division. It is the administrative centre of the Comilla District. The name Comilla was derived from ''Komolangko'' (কমলাঙ্ক), meaning the pond of lotus. Alaka Das
Alaka Das ( bn, অলকা দাশ) is an artist of classical music of Bangladesh born in Comilla in 1946. She is noted for singing many unconventional raagas (classical music) in state owned media. Family Das' father was a classical musician, Pandit Surendra Narayan Das. She learnt all the basics of music from her father. Her uncle is Sudhin Das, from whom she learnt Nazrul Sangeet for a few days. Her younger brother Manas Kumar Das, Subrata Das and Tapas Kumar Das are also singers of Nazrul Sangeet in Bangladesh. Early life and career Das started her professional music career by enlisting in Bangladesh Betar during 1963. Later, she enlisted in Bangladesh Television during 1967. Bengal Presidency
The Bengal Presidency, officially the Presidency of Fort William and later Bengal Province, was a subdivision of the British Empire in India. At the height of its territorial jurisdiction, it covered large parts of what is now South Asia and Southeast Asia. Channel i ( bn, চ্যানেল আই) is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable television channel owned by Impress Group. It was launched on 1 October 1999, as Bangladesh's first digital television channel. It is one of the oldest satellite television channels in Bangladesh. Channel i is broadcast via satellite television using PanAm Sat and Bangabandhu-1, covering most of Asia and parts of Australia. It is sister to the radio station, Radio Bhumi.
