Sudanell
Sudanell is a municipality in the Comarques of Catalonia, ''comarca'' of the Segrià in Catalonia. It is located by the junction of two rivers: the segre (river), Segre and the Set (river), Set. Agriculture is Sudanell's principal economic activity (peaches, apples, pears, corn). Two canals: Canal de Seròs and Acèquia de Torres irrigate the area. Elements of touristic interest * Cross Head (Creu del Terme). Made from stone and dated from the 14th century. * Parish church of Sant Pere (Saint Peter). Catalonia is (as of 2018) divided into 947 Municipalities of Spain, municipalities. Each municipality typically represents one significant urban settlement, of any size from village to city, with its surrounding land. This is not always the case, though. Alcarràs
Alcarràs is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Segrià in Catalonia. It includes a small exclave to the south. Etymology Of Arabic origin, in ancient documents (12th century) it appears with the form ''Alcaraz''. According to Arabist Miguel Asín, it would come from the Arabic "al-Karas" with the meaning of "cherry". History The current town is of Islamic origin, but it does not appear historically documented until the 12th century. In the ''Ordinatio'' of diocese of Lleida from 1168, it appears as Alcarraz, just like in other documents, referring to the Saracen castle and the church. Lleida
Lleida (, ; Spanish: Lérida ) is a city in the west of Catalonia, Spain. It is the capital city of the province of Lleida. Geographically, it is located in the Catalan Central Depression. It is also the capital city of the Segrià comarca, as well as the largest city in the province. It had 137,387 inhabitants , including the contiguous towns of Raimat and Sucs. Lleida is one of the oldest towns in Catalonia, with recorded settlements dating back to the Bronze Age period. Until the Roman conquest of the Iberian Peninsula, the area served as a settlement for an Iberian people, the Ilergetes. The town became a municipality, named Ilerda, under the reign of Augustus. The Segre ( or ; french: Sègre) is a river tributary to the Ebro (''Ebre'' in Catalan) with a basin comprising territories across three states: France, Andorra and Spain.
