Suburban Central Conference
The Suburban Conference, formally the St. Louis Suburban Public High School Athletic and Activities Association (SPHSAAA), is a Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) recognized high school extracurricular league, based near Creve Coeur, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. The conference is one of the largest in the state, comprising 31 member schools from St. Louis County and Jefferson County. Realignments Because of the large number of teams in the conference, the conference has historically been divided geographically into sub-conferences and divisions. Prior to the 2014–15 school year, there were four conferences: Suburban East, Suburban North, Suburban South and Suburban West. Missouri State High School Activities Association
The Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) is the governing body for high school activities throughout the state of Missouri. Approximately 580 high schools are members of MSHSAA. The MSHSAA conducts championship-level activities in 23 activities. At least 50 member high schools must sponsor a sport for an official championship series to be conducted. Sports such as boys volleyball, field hockey, girls lacrosse, boys softball, and water polo are considered "emerging sports" by MSHSAA, but an official postseason series does not exist with less than 50 schools involved in those activities. MSHSAA also administers sideline cheerleading and dance team activities. Pattonville High School is a public high school located in Maryland Heights, Missouri. It is the only high school in the Pattonville School District. History Pattonville High School's first graduating class was in 1937 with 2 girls graduating. In 1938, the graduating class had grown to 4 boys and 1 girl. History Parkway West High School (PWHS) was the second high school built in the Parkway School District; it opened in fall 1968 with grades 10-12. Parkway North High School
Parkway North High School is a public high school in unincorporated St. Louis County, Missouri. Demographics The student body is about 51 percent White, 31 percent Black, and 9 percent Asian. Building architecture The school extensively used open classrooms, as the school was originally constructed without walls separating classrooms. This was a trend in architecture in 1971 when the building was constructed. However, the infeasibility of this design was discovered ten years later, and plaster walls were inserted between classrooms, resulting in an eclectic mix of architectural styling, as well as the logistical problems with these newly created rooms receiving proper HVAC ventilation. The new science department contains traditional classrooms with walls, moving the school away from its original architecture. Parkway Central High School is a public high school in Chesterfield, Missouri that is part of the Parkway School District. History Five elementary school districts merged to form the Parkway Consolidated School District. The name for the district was proposed by a fourth grader from Barretts Elementary School. The name "Parkway" was in honor of the Daniel Boone Parkway, which is also known as Highway 40 (now I-64). The road passes through the center of the district. The word ''Consolidated'' was later dropped as sounding too rural in the rapidly growing and changing district. Parkway Central was the first high school built in the new district. Oakville High School
Oakville High School (formerly Oakville Senior High School) is a public comprehensive high school in Oakville, Missouri that is part of the Mehlville R-9 School District. In the 1960s, the district was struggling to keep up with skyrocking enrollments. Because of this, it was decided that a second high school needed to be built. Oakville High School was founded in 1969, originally being housed at the Jefferson Barracks Building in Mehlville until it moved into its present building at 5557 Milburn Road in 1973. The school's colors are black and gold and the school mascot is the Tiger. Mehlville High School
Mehlville High School is a public comprehensive high school in Mehlville, Missouri, United States. It is part of the Mehlville R-9 School District. History Early history (1925–1957) The school and surrounding unincorporated community are both named for Charles Mehl, a German-born contractor, whose family moved into a rural area a few miles south of St. Louis, in what is today South St. Louis County. Mehl was given a land-grant in 1846 to acknowledge his service in the Mexican-American War. Mehlville High School was first established in 1925 after parents demanded local secondary education for their children.
