Subodh Patnaik
Subodh Patnaik was a screenwriter and dialogue writer in Odia language films. He also received Odisha Sahitya Academy Award for his book 'Ho Bhagate' for category One-act play in 1990. Career In 1984, Brajaraj Movie's 'Danda Balunga' was the first film Patnaik was showcased his talent as a scriptwriter. After ''Danda Balunga'' he never looked back, went on to work in many Odia language films like ''Mamata Mage Mula'', ''Chaka Bhaunri'', ''Jaiphula'', ''Pua Mora Kala Thakura'', ''Jaga Hata Re Pagha'', ''Sankha Sindura'' and ''Baje Bainsi Nache Ghungura''. He had contributed in above 60 Odia films for Odia cinema and also acted in more than 50 Odia plays. One of his play '' 'Mahajatra' '' was shown during National theatre festival at Paradip in 2010. Subodh Patnaik () is an Indian theatre director and playwright from Odisha. He is the founder of Bhubaneswar-based theatre group Natya Chetana and theatre village '' 'Natya Grama' ''.Patnaik is the only theatre personality from Odisha to tour all the continents. Early life Born in Puri in 1964, to veterinary Dr Pramod Chandra Patnaik and Dr Sashi Prava Patnaik. He was graduated from the Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya in Odisha. He had a knowledge about street theatre, so he had gone New Delhi to learn prior to 1986. After return from New Delhi, he formed the theatre group Natya Chetana on 10 November 1986. Paradeep, also spelled Paradip (originally Paradweep, also spelled Paradwip), is a major industrial seaport town and municipality, nearly 80 km from Cuttack city, in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha, India. Nandikar's National Theatre Festival was started in 1984. It is arranged annually in Kolkata, India, between 16 and 25 December. Initiated and organized, as the name suggest, by the theatre group Nandikar. The festival is held at the Academy of Fine Arts, Calcutta.
