Submarino
''Submarino'' is a 2010 Danish drama film directed by Thomas Vinterberg, starring Jakob Cedergren and Peter Plaugborg. It is based on the 2007 novel ''Submarino'' by Jonas T. Bengtsson, and focuses on two brothers on the bottom of Danish society, with lives marked by violence and drug addiction. The film was produced by Nimbus Film. As a condition from the financier TV 2, half of the cast and crew were novices, which the director enjoyed as it gave an experience similar to his earliest films. ''Submarino'' premiered in the main competition of the 60th Berlin International Film Festival. The film won the 2010 Nordic Council Film Prize. It was met by positive reviews in Denmark and has been nominated for 15 Robert Awards. Charlotte Bruus Christensen
Charlotte Bruus Christensen (born 20 March 1978) is a Danish cinematographer. Biography Born in Denmark, Christensen earned a master's degree in cinematography from the National Film and Television School in the UK, in 2004. Thomas Vinterberg
Thomas Vinterberg (; born 19 May 1969) is a Danish film director who, along with Lars von Trier, co-founded the Dogme 95 movement in filmmaking, which established rules for simplifying movie production. He is best known for the films ''The Celebration'' (1998), '' Submarino'' (2010), '' The Hunt'' (2012), '' Far from the Madding Crowd'' (2015), and '' Another Round'' (2020). Tobias Lindholm
Tobias Lindholm (born 5 July 1977) is a Danish screenwriter and film director. His 2015 directed film ''A War'' was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Kristian Eidnes Andersen (born 2 July 1966) is a Danish film audio engineer and composer. He heads the department of sound design at the National Film School of Denmark. Eidnes Andersen got a degree from the National Film School of Denmark, and has been sound designer on more than 80 films. 60th Berlin International Film Festival
The 60th annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from 11 to 21 February 2010, with Werner Herzog as President of the Jury. The opening film of the festival was Chinese director Wang Quan'an's romantic drama ''Apart Together'', in competition, while the closing film is Japanese director Yoji Yamada's ''Otōto (2010 film), About Her Brother'', which was screened out of competition. Nordic Council Film Prize
The Nordic Council Film Prize is an annual film prize administered by the Nordic Council. The Nordisk Film & TV Fond is the funding body that administers the prize. History The first award was handed out in 2002 to celebrate the Nordic Council's 50th anniversary. Since 2005 the prize has been annual. Description The Nordisk Film & TV Fond is secretariat to the Nordic Council. It is funded by 22 partners: the Nordic Council of Ministers; five national film institutes; and 16 public and private media companies. It also funds the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize at the annual Gothenburg Film Festival. One winner is chosen from submissions from the five Nordic countries. In 2008, the prize money of the Nordic Council Film Prize was €47,000. According to the Nordic Council, the prize is given for "the creation of an artistically original film that is rooted in Nordic cultural circles".
