The Lumineers
The Lumineers are an American alternative folk band based in Denver, Colorado. The founding members are Wesley Schultz (lead vocals, guitar) and Jeremiah Fraites (drums, percussion, piano). Schultz and Fraites began writing and performing together in Ramsey, New Jersey, in 2005. Cellist and vocalist Neyla Pekarek joined the band in 2010, and was a member until 2018. The Lumineers emerged as one of the most popular folk-rock/Americana artists during the revival of those genres, their popularity growing in the 2010s. The band's stripped back raw sound draws heavily from artists that influenced Schultz and Fraites such as Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty. ''The Lumineers'' is the debut studio album by American folk rock band the Lumineers. The album was released in the United States on April 3, 2012, and contains the singles "Ho Hey", " Stubborn Love" and "Submarines". The album peaked at number 2 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. The vinyl LP version of the record was pressed by United Record Pressing in Nashville, Tennessee. Reception Commercial ''The Lumineers'' debuted on the US ''Billboard'' 200 at number 45 on its week of release with sales of 10,000. The success of the song "Ho Hey" however began to drive sales of the album, and it eventually reached a peak of number 2 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Ryan Hadlock is an American record producer, best known for his production work on platinum-selling album ''The Lumineers'' by The Lumineers. Career Hadlock has been around music his entire life, as his parents Joe and Manny Hadlock, started Bear Creek Studio in 1977. The studio has remained family-owned for two generations, and is now headed by Ryan. Joe Hadlock was in a number of Seattle bands, and their family home and studio were places where creativity was always encouraged, and part of the fabric of business and socializing. "Ophelia" is a song recorded by American folk rock band the Lumineers. It was released as the lead single from their sophomore album, ''Cleopatra'' on February 5, 2016. As of August 2022, the song has garnered over 800 million streams on Spotify. Background The song started out as a slower instrumental demo that Jeremiah Fraites, (one sixth of the Lumineers), sent to Wesley Schultz (lead vocalist of the Lumineers), in 2011.
