Subcommittee On Human Rights
The Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI) is a subcommittee of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament. It is responsible for issues of human rights and democracy, including ensuring their implementation in European Union policy, encouraging dialogue with international agencies and civil society, and providing a platform for reports on and analysis of human rights both within and outside the EU. During the Ninth European Parliament (2019–2024), the committee has 30 members and is chaired by Marie Arena from Belgium. Subcommittee
A committee or commission is a body of one or more persons subordinate to a deliberative assembly. A committee is not itself considered to be a form of assembly. Usually, the assembly sends matters into a committee as a way to explore them more fully than would be possible if the assembly itself were considering them. Committees may have different functions and their types of work differ depending on the type of the organization and its needs. A member of a legislature may be delegated a committee assignment, which gives them the right to serve on a certain committee. Purpose A deliberative assembly may form a committee (or "commission") consisting of one or more persons to assist with the work of the assembly. For larger organizations, much work is done in committees. Hannah Neumann
Hannah Neumann (born 3 April 1984) is a German politician of the Alliance 90/The Greens who has been serving as a Member of the European Parliament since 2019. Early life and education Neumann studied media studies at TU Ilmenau from 2002 until 2007 and political science at Free University of Berlin from 2008 until 2012. During her studies, she spent a year abroad at Ateneo de Manila University from 2004 until 2005. Career Neumann worked as legislative assistant to Tom Koenigs (2013-2014) and as chief of staff to Omid Nouripour (2014-2016) in the German Bundestag. Katalin Cseh (born 29 June 1988) is a Canadian-born Hungarian physician and politician. She was elected as a Momentum Movement (part of the Renew Europe party group) Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in the 2019 parliamentary election. Early life and career Katalin Cseh was born on 29 June 1988 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Her early education was at Toldy Ferenc High School in Budapest, Hungary. She graduated from Semmelweis University. In 2015, she obtained a master's degree in Health Economics, Policy, and Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
