Subaru B9 Scrambler
The Subaru B9 Scrambler (also known as the Subaru B9SC) is an open two-seat concept sports car from Subaru featuring classic styling. It is long and powered by a gasoline-electric hybrid engine. It was designed by Andreas Zapatinas. Design This concept car was first shown in 2003 at the Tokyo Motor Show. It was designed with influence from Subaru's aircraft heritage, with the front end appearing to look like the cross section of an airliner, with a central jet intake and wings. This theme was originally developed for the Subaru B11S which had been exhibited in Spring 2003. The lower panels of the B9 are dent resistant. Subaru B11S
The Subaru B11S was a concept sports coupe made by Subaru, introduced at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show. Design The model number "B11S" derives from B (for Boxer, referring to Subaru's horizontally-opposed engines), 11 (indicating a premium class), and S (for Sportive). The B11S featured four doors in a quad coupe arrangement, with the rear doors hinged at the rear in a manner similar to the Mazda RX-8 and Saturn Ion. The B11S was styled by a team led by Kiyoshi Sugimoto, with initial guidance provided by freshly-promoted President Kyoji Takenaka. Sugimoto had previously designed the first-generation Subaru Legacy before heading the Subaru Design Department. ''WRC: Rally Evolved'' (also known as ''WRC 5'' and ''WRC 2005'') is a racing video game for the PlayStation 2 and was released only in Europe on 28 October 2005. It is the fourth rallying game to be officially licensed by the FIA World Rally Championship and the last to be developed by Evolution Studios. The game is based on the 2005 WRC season. A flat-four engine, also known as a horizontally opposed-four engine, is a four-cylinder piston engine with two banks of cylinders lying on opposite sides of a common crankshaft. The most common type of flat-four engine is the boxer-four engine, each pair of opposed pistons moves inwards and outwards at the same time. The Pontiac Solstice is a sports car that was produced by Pontiac. Introduced at the 2004 North American International Auto Show, the Solstice roadster began production in Wilmington, Delaware, starting in mid-2005 for the 2006 model year. Andreas Zapatinas (born 1957) is a Greek people, Greek automobile designer and industrial designer. Early life and education Zapatinas was born in Athens. He studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and graduated in 1986. Career He worked at Centro Stile Fiat from 1988 until 1994, where he met Chris Bangle. Zapatinas was chief exterior designer of the Fiat Barchetta. He also contributed to the design of Fiat Coupé and Alfa Romeo 145. In 1994 he followed Bangle to BMW.
