''Suba'' is a 2010 Sri Lankan Sinhala drama film directed by Ariyadasa Peiris and co-produced by K.R. Siriwardana, Ajith Kulathunga, W.R. Dammika, Swetha De Silva and Ariyadasa Peiris for Charithamali Films. It stars Muthu Tharanga and Manjula Moragaha in lead roles along with Cletus Mendis and Sanoja Bibile. Music composed by Rohana Weerasinghe. It is the 1146th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. Cletus Mendis
Gammada Liyanage Cletus Paulinus Mendis, popularly as Cletus Mendis (born July 17, 1949 as ක්ලීටස් මෙන්ඩිස් Sinhala) is a Sri Lankan actor, mainly works in cinema and television. He has received a number of awards for portraying villains at the Sarasaviya, OCIC, Raigam, and Presidential film festivals. His elder brother, Vinicius Mendis died in October, 2019 at the age of 75. Personal life Cletus is married to Dorrin Jayakody in 1987 and they have single son, who was born in 1994. Acting career In 1971, before moving into silver screen, Mendis did dramas at church feasts and taught gymnastics and martial arts to the youth at Katupotha. Rohana Weerasinghe
DR. Rohana Weerasinghe (born February 18, 1949), is a Sri Lankan musician, composer and singer. Early life Weerasinghe was born on 18 February 1949 in Algiriya, Matara in southern Sri Lanka. He was the youngest child to his parents Henry Weerasinghe and Sepalin Weerasinghe. In 1954, Weerasinghe started schooling from Good Shepard Family Convent in Nuwara Eliya, and later moved to Vidyachakra Buddhist School Ruwan Eliya, Welimada Maha Vidyalaya, Pannipitya Dharmapala Vidyalaya and Gamini Maha Vidyalaya Nuwara Eliya. In 1977, Weerasinghe married to Leela Beatrice De Silva, a dancing teacher in profession. They had two sons, Kalindu Gajaba and Chirath Kanishka. His cousin daughter Priyani Jayasinghe was also a popular actress in Sri Lanka, who sang the popular hits ''Kandula Niwannam'' and ''Sundara Hadakata''. Niromi Sanoja Bibile (born December 27, 1961, si, සනෝජා බිබිලේ), is an actress in Sri Lankan cinema and television. She started her career with dramatic roles and moved to comedy roles. Sanoja is well known for the roles ''Mali Nandani'' in the TV series ''Nonavaruni Mahathvaruni'' and ''Miss Kitty'' in the 1996 movie Cheriyo Darling. She is a winner of Miss Sri Lanka pageant. Personal life His father Sumith Bibile was an actor appeared in films such as ''Umathu Wishwasaya'' and ''Asoka''. Sumith was born on 30 November 1930 in Kandy and died on 5 September 2017. He was educated in Dharmaraja College. Her mother was Nandanie Dehigama. Sanoja completed her education from Girls' High School, Kandy. Sri Lankan cinema encompasses the Sri Lankan film industry. It is a fledgling industry that has struggled to find a footing since its inauguration in 1947 with '' Kadawunu Poronduwa'' produced by S. M. Nayagam of Chitra Kala Movietone. Sri Lankan films are usually made in Sinhala and Tamil languages, the dominant languages of the country. Cinema of Sri Lanka is also referred to as Follywood as many famous Sri Lankan actors had surnames starting with an "F." In the first nine years, most films were made in neighboring Southern India and closely followed the conventions of Indian cinema. Studio shooting was the norm, with Indian style sets erected in film studios.
