Sibut
Sibut (), formerly Fort Sibut (french: Fort-Sibut) is the capital of Kémo, one of the 16 prefectures of the Central African Republic. An important transport hub, it is situated north of the capital Bangui and is known for its market. Sibut is located at the Northern end of the paved road coming from the capital, Bangui. At Sibut, two major provincial roads split, one going North to Kaga Bandoro, and the other east towards Bomimi, a thriving agricultural village of 450 people, from Sibut. History The settlement was originally named Krébédjé after the local Dekpa chief of the same name. The French arrived in 1895 and Krébédjé, and they officially recognised him as chief the next year. The town was renamed Fort Sibut in 1900 after Medical Major Adolphe Pierre Sibut, a deceased friend of colonial official Émile Gentil. Dekoa
Dekoa (Dékoua) is a sub-prefecture and town in the Kémo Prefecture of the south-eastern Central African Republic. History In the nineteenth century freebooter Rabih az-Zubayr brought Dekoa under his sway and made it a part of the Bornu Empire. In March 1899, the sultan captured and imprisoned the explorer Ferdinand de Béhagle at Dekoa. Béhagle was subsequently hanged after the French battled the sultan's troops at Kouno in October of that year. Civil war On 28 December 2012 Séléka rebels took control of Dekoa. On 8 April 2014 Anti-balaka attacked ex-Seleka positions in Dekoa resulting in 30 deaths. On 17 August 2018 FACA was deployed in Dekoa. Three UN peacekeepers from Burundi were killed in Dekoa and Bakouma on December 26, 2020, one day before the 2020 Central African general election. Ouadda
Ouadda is a town located in the Central African Republic prefecture of Haute-Kotto. History On 10 December 2012, the rebels from Séléka seized Ouadda, as well as weapons left by fleeing soldiers. In 2021 Ouadda was under control of ex-Séléka ''Rassemblement patriotique pour le renouveau de la Centrafrique'' (RPRC). Bria, Central African Republic
Bria is the capital of Haute-Kotto, one of the 14 prefectures of the Central African Republic. As of the 2003 census the town had a population of 35,204. Geography Bria is located on the Kotto River. History Civil war On 18 December 2012 Bria was captured by Séléka rebels. On 21 November 2016 an armed conflict broke out between the ethnicities Gula and Peuhl representing different armed groups resulting in death of 92 people, many more injured and 12000 refugees around the UN camp outside the city. On 18 May 2017 heavy clashes erupted between Anti-balaka and ex-Seleka in Bria resulting in 26 deaths. On 21 June 2017 clashes between rival factions resulting in death of around 100 people. On 4 December 2017 Anti-balaka fighters led by Jean-Francis Diandi attacked international forces in Bria killing one Mauritanian peacekeeper. Mboki is a town and sub-prefecture in the Haut-Mbomou prefecture of the south-eastern Central African Republic. History Until mid-2017 Mboki was not affected by Central African Republic Civil War.
