Suat Berk
Suat Berk (1901 – 15 July 2002) was the first female judge in Turkey. She was born on 2 April 1901 in Istanbul. Her birth name was Suat Hilmi. She graduated from the Law school of Istanbul University (then named ''Darülfunun'' ) . In 1925, she was appointed as a justice of the peace(magistrate) . In 1933, she went to Berlin, Nazi Germany for doctorate studies. In 1951, she was elected as the member of Ankara Bar Association ( tr, Baro). She was the first female judge in Turkey. According to her son in 1925 when she was appointed as a judge, women judges were allowed to serve only in juvenile courts in many countries. After she retired from the public service, she continued as a lawyer of İşbank, Halkbank and Tekel. Private life While in Berlin, she met Niyazi Ozman, a Turkish Navy officer n the rank of a captain, and married briefly to him. She had one son named Ahmet from this marriage. Turkish Navy
The Turkish Naval Forces ( tr, ), or Turkish Navy ( tr, ) is the naval warfare service branch of the Turkish Armed Forces. The modern naval traditions and customs of the Turkish Navy can be traced back to 10 July 1920, when it was established as the ''Directorate of Naval Affairs'' during the Turkish War of Independence led by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Since July 1949, the service has been officially known as the ''Turkish Naval Forces''. Bitez
Bitez is a town in Bodrum district of the Muğla Province. Geography It is situated in Bodrum Peninsula at . It is almost merged with Bodrum which is just east of Bitez. It is a coastal town and a popular summer resort. The settled population of Bitez is 8155 as of 2011. But during the summer months the population is much higher. Economy The climate in Bitez is suitable for all Mediterranean agricultural crops like olive, citrus, tobacco, etc. In the past fishing was also a part of the town economy.
