Su'ao () is a railway station on the Taiwan Railways Administration Yilan line. It is located in Su'ao Township, Yilan County, Taiwan and is the southern terminus of the Yilan line. Nanfang'ao Bridge
The Nanfang'ao Bridge () was a bridge in Nanfang'ao Fishing Port, Su'ao Township, Yilan County, Taiwan. It was the only steel single-arch bridge in Taiwan and was maintained by Taiwan International Ports Corporation. Construction began in 1996, and was finished in 1998. The bridge collapsed on 1 October 2019, killing six people and injuring 12. History The bridge was designed by MAA Consultants () and built by Yilan County Government. The construction started in 1996 and was commissioned by Ministry of Transportation and Communications. It was finally opened to the public in 1998 and was transferred to Keelung Port Bureau (now Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC)) for its management. The bridge was constructed to replace the former lower bridge around the same area so that large fishing vessels could pass through underneath it. Tofu Cape
The Tofu Cape () is a Cape (geography), cape in Su'ao, Su'ao Township, Yilan County, Taiwan, Yilan County, Taiwan. Name The cape got its name because the rock on the area resembles tofu. The Su'ao Fortress () is a former fort in Su'ao Township, Yilan County, Taiwan. History In 1889, the French Empire attempted to invade Taiwan in Su'ao. Su'ao Cold Spring
Su'ao Cold Spring () is a cold spring in Su'ao Township, Yilan County, Taiwan. History The cold spring was discovered by the Japanese army in 1928. Geology Su'ao Cold Spring has a spring water temperature of 22 °C. It is both batheable and drinkable, and it has a pH of 5.5. According to Japanese researchers, the cold spring contains carbonic ion concentrations of 68ppm, the highest of all springs in Taiwan. Its sodium ion concentrations were 14.3ppm and calcium ion 10.7ppm. Su'ao Cold Spring is the only calcium hydroxy carbonic spring in Taiwan. Su'ao Cold Spring contains a generous volume of carbon dioxide, which was in the past used to produce Ramune (Natural soda water). Neipi Beach
The Neipi Beach () is a beach in Su'ao Township, Yilan County, Taiwan facing the Pacific Ocean. Geology The beach is located at the southern end of the Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area. It is a place for marine deposit with both fine sands and rubble. It also has marine abrasion land forms such as sea cape, sea cliff and reef at the bottom of the sea. The seabed around this area is uneven which resulted in the usual undercurrent under the sea. The beach is located at the south of Nanfang'ao Fishing Port and separated by a large pile of dirt. Su'ao Township (), alternately romanized as Su-ao, is located in southern Yilan County, Taiwan, is an urban township that is famous for its seafood restaurants and cold springs. It is a terminus of National Highway No. 5, the Su'ao-Hualien Express Way, and the North-Link Line of the Taiwan Railway Administration.
