Störtebeker Festival
The Störtebeker Festival (german: Störtebeker-Festspiele) is an yearly open-air theatre festival in Germany. It is based on stories around the medieval German privateer Klaus Störtebeker and his Victual Brothers, who later turned to pirates. Founded in 1959 as part of an East German cultural initiative, the festival has become Germany's most successful open-air theatre event, and is broadcast by public television network NDR. It is held in the small town of Ralswiek on the isle of Rügen. Background In 1959, the "Rügenfestspiele" were founded in Ralswiek as part of a cultural commission of the GDR and the Ralswiek natural stage was created. The place for the then ''Rügen Festival'' was found in the spring of 1959 between Ralswiek Castle and the Boddenufer, and the natural stage was then built in five months of construction and the village was converted into a festival venue. Mircea Crișan
Mircea Crișan (8 August 1924 – 22 November 2013) was considered to be one of the greatest Romanian comedians and comedic actors. Biography He was born in the Maramureș region of northern Romania to a German father and Romanian mother. He traveled as a child with his parents in their circus. From 1944 to 1946 he studied Dramatic Art at the State Drama School in Bucharest, in the class of Maria Filotti. In the 1950s and 1960s, Crișan played in several Romanian comedies and the theater. He was known as a star of the former Eastern Bloc and even performed privately for Nikita Khrushchev. In 1964 he was awarded the title of "Artist Emerit" of the Romanian People's Republic. He took advantage of his second stint in the Music Hall Olympia in Paris in order to settle in 1968 in West Germany. Thomas Linke (born 26 December 1969) is a retired German professional footballer. He played as a central defender an last worked as the director of football of FC Ingolstadt 04. Linke was remembered as a hard-nosed tackler with tremendous heading ability, and played in 13 Bundesliga seasons in representation of Schalke 04 and Bayern Munich, totalling 340 games. Wolfgang Lippert (actor)
Wolfgang Lippert (born 16 February 1952) is a German entertainer, singer, and actor. He was one of the most popular entertainers of the GDR (East Germany). After working as an auto mechanic and photographer, he came into the show business as a TV show host and singer. Biography Lippert was born in Berlin, the son of a ''Kapellmeister''. From 1969 to 1979, he completed piano and singing training at the Berlin-Friedrichshain school of music. Afterwards, he was on tour with his own rock music band and sang also for broadcast productions. With his band he was also once guest in the child broadcast production "Hey Du". The director was inspired by Lippert's way of working with the children and offered him a job moderating the broadcast production. Lippert accepted the offer and from 1983 to 1986 was the moderator of the monthly program. In 1982, he landed a hit with "Erna kommt" and became famous overnight in the entire GDR.
