Sturt Cricket Club
The Sturt Cricket Club (formerly the Unley Cricket Club) is a semi-professional cricket club in Adelaide, South Australia. It competes in the South Australian Grade Cricket League, which is administered by the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA). The club entered the SACA competition in season 1897/98. The club has produced a number of prominent players including current players Mohammed Arhaan Tai, Cullen Bailey, Jason Borgas, Cameron Borgas, and Tom Moffat. The Blues play their senior home games at the Price Memorial Oval at Angas Road, Hawthorn, South Australia. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. South Australian Premier Cricket (previously known as South Australian District Cricket and South Australian Grade Cricket) is the semi-professional State league based in metropolitan Adelaide, South Australia. It is currently the highest level of cricket played in South Australia outside first-class cricket. The league is administered by the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA), which is the organisation responsible for promoting and developing the game of cricket in South Australia. Mohammed Arhaan Tai
Muhammad ( ar, مُحَمَّد; 570 – 8 June 632 CE) was an Arab religious, social, and political leader and the founder of Islam. According to Islamic doctrine, he was a prophet divinely inspired to preach and confirm the monotheistic teachings of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. Cullen Bailey
Cullen Benjamin Bailey (born 26 February 1985 in Bedford Park, South Australia, Bedford Park, Adelaide) is a former Australian First Class cricketer. He is a leg-spin bowler, who represented Southern Redbacks, South Australia in the Ryobi Cup and Sheffield Shield, the Australian domestic cricket competitions. He played for Glenelg Cricket Club, Glenelg in the South Australian Grade Cricket League, Adelaide Grade Cricket competition, having previously captained Sturt Cricket Club, Sturt where he won a premiership in his last year at the club in 2009/10. Cameron Borgas
Cameron James Borgas (born 1 September 1983 in Adelaide, South Australia) is a former Australian cricketer who played for the Southern Redbacks and Adelaide Strikers. He was a right-handed middle order batsman and has previously represented Australia at under 19 level. He also played A grade cricket for Sturt District Cricket Club. He was just 17 years old when first contracted by the Redbacks. He played a couple of games in 2000–01 but it was in 2005–06 that he showed his talent with maiden century of 140 against Tasmania. That was followed with an innings of 149 against New South Wales at Adelaide Oval. Borgas also played a part in their one-day campaign in which they narrowly lost the final. Unley Oval (also known as Wigan Oval under a naming rights agreement), is a multi-use stadium in Unley, an inner southern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia.
