Stuhna River
The Stuhna (), or Stugna, is a minor river in Ukraine, a right tributary of Dnieper River. Its length is 68 km. The river was mentioned in the ''Tale of Igor's Campaign'' and was a place of the Battle of the Stuhna River. Cities located on the river: Vasylkiv, Obukhiv and Ukrainka. Vasylkiv
Vasylkiv (, uk, Васильків, lit=, translit=Vasylʹkiv, yi, וואַסלקעוו, Vasilikev) is a city located on the Stuhna River in Obukhiv Raion, Kyiv Oblast (province) in central Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Vasylkiv urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. A settlement with an over 1000 years history, Vasylkiv was incorporated as a city in 1796. The city has hosted the Vasylkiv Air Base since the Cold War. It is currently an industrial centre, producing electrical appliances and leather goods. Population: History Vasylkiv was founded in 988 CE, and fortified in the 11th century. According to the Primary Chronicle, it was the place where Vladimir the Great's numerous wives lived. After the Christianization of Kyiv, Vladimir built there a fortress and named it ''Vasilev'', after his patron saint, Saint Basil (Vasily).
