Studio Filmów Rysunkowych (''Animated Film Studio'') is a Polish animation studio based in Bielsko-Biała. It is best known for animating Polish cartoons of ''Bolek and Lolek'' and ''Reksio''. It was founded in 1947 by brothers Zdzisław and Maciej Lachur with Władysław Nehrebecki, Leszek Lorek, Alfred Ledwig, Mieczysław Poznański, Aleksander Rohoziński, Wiktor Sakowicz, Rufin Struzik, and Wacław Wajser. The studio was established on 1 September 1947 as (Experimental Animated Film Studio) operating at the office of Trybuna Śląska, Trybuna Robotnicza (Worker's Tribune) newspaper. An animation studio is a company producing animated media. The broadest such companies conceive of products to produce, own the physical equipment for production, employ operators for that equipment, and hold a major stake in the sales or rentals of the media produced. ''Bolek and Lolek'' are two Polish cartoon characters from the children's animated comedy television series by the same name. They were created by Władysław Nehrebecki the author, scriptwriter and main director and partially designed by Władysław Nehrebecki, Alfred Ledwig and Leszek Lorek. The series is about two brothers and their fun (and sometimes silly) adventures which often involve spending a lot of time outdoors. History and background The characters were first introduced in an animated film in 1962. Their names are diminutives of Bolesław and Karol. In English, the cartoon was distributed as ''Benny & Lenny'', ''Jym and Jam'' and ''Tim & Tom''. Reksio
Reksio is a Polish cartoon character who is the protagonist of the children's animated adventure-comedy Polish TV series of the same name. Reksio was created by Polish director Lechosław Marszałek. Its 65 episodes were designed and produced from 1967 to 1990 in a Polish animated films studio, more specifically in '' Studio Filmów Rysunkowych'' (situated in the city of Bielsko-Biała) which also made the more well-known Bolek and Lolek (there are even cameo appearances of Lolek and Bolek in Reksio). All episodes describe the adventures of a friendly and courageous piebald terrier dog named Reksio along with his human owners (a middle class Polish family throughout most of the main series) and his animal friends, mostly living in the same courtyard as him, namely hens, cats, or other dogs (and their owners as well). Trybuna Śląska – regional newspaper published in Katowice during the years 1945–2004, one of the largest daily newspaper at that time in Poland. Bielsko
Bielsko (german: Bielitz, cs, Bílsko) was until 1950 an independent town situated in Cieszyn Silesia, Poland. In 1951 it was joined with Biała Krakowska to form the new town of Bielsko-Biała.
