Stuart McQuarrie
Stuart McQuarrie (born 19 March 1963) is a Scottish actor who has starred in several acclaimed films, including ''Trainspotting'' and '' 28 Days Later''. Besides numerous film and TV appearances McQuarrie has performed extensively in theatre throughout the UK. Biography McQuarrie trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) in Glasgow and soon became a highly popular actor amongst Edinburgh theatre goers before moving to London, where he has played prominent roles in more controversial, new dramas by playwrights such as Sarah Kane and Anthony Neilson, amongst others. In 2006 McQuarrie returned to Edinburgh, where he played himself in the critically acclaimed National Theatre of Scotland production of ''Realism'' by Anthony Neilson, for which he won the ''Glasgow Herald Angel'' award and was nominated for Best Male Actor by CATS ( Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland). Young Adam (film)
''Young Adam'' is a 2003 British erotic drama film written and directed by David Mackenzie and starring Ewan McGregor, Tilda Swinton, Peter Mullan, Ewan Stewart and Emily Mortimer. The film is based on the 1954 novel of the same name by Alexander Trocchi. Plot The film is set in Scotland in 1954. Shiftless young drifter Joe Taylor works on a barge which operates from Glasgow, on the River Clyde, along the Forth and Clyde and Union Canals to Edinburgh. He shares the cramped on-board living quarters with its operators, Les and Ella Gault, and their young son Jim. One day Joe and Les pull the body of a young woman, Cathie Dimly, naked except for a petticoat, from the water. IFC Films is an American film production and distribution company based in New York. It is an offshoot of IFC owned by AMC Networks. Nae Caranfil
Nae Caranfil (; also Nicolae Caranfil) (born 7 September 1960) is a Romanian film director and screenwriter. Career Born in Bucharest, Nae Caranfil is the son of important Romanian film historian and critic Tudor Caranfil. He graduated in 1984 from the Caragiale Academy of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography (UNATC) in Bucharest, where he has also taught as a professor. In the beginning of his career he directed only short films: ''Venice in September'' (1983), ''Thirty Years of Insomnia'' (1984), and ''Backstage'' (1988). Dumitru Dămăceanu (17 July 1896 – 27 September 1978) was a Romanian army officer in World War II, later promoted to brigadier-general, who played a predominant role in the royal coup of August 23, 1944. Military and diplomatic career Before World War II Dămăceanu was born in the village of Cosmești, in Galați County, Romania. He attended the Costache Negruzzi Boarding High School of Iași, and then the Military School for Cavalry Officers in Târgoviște, graduating in 1916 with the rank of second lieutenant. He then fought in the Romanian campaign of World War I with the 6th Regiment '' Roșiori''. Michael Gunther
Michael Gunther is a producer, director and writer. Gunther started out in feature films after a career as a commercials director in Europe that spanned almost a decade, and included collaborations with Russell Boyd. He later turned his sights to documentary and feature films and started producing TV documentaries with his own company, including a portrait of acclaimed painter Hans Falk and an account of the devastating 1999 earthquake in Turkey.
