Stuart Matchett
Stuart Matchett (29 June 1950 – 2 April 2018) was an Australian radio announcer and program director. He started in radio at Brisbane community station 4ZZZ-FM in 1975. He was a presenter at Triple J from 1978 to 1986 (nights and mornings) and for several years in this period he hosted a weekly "Almanac" program, broadcast on Sundays, which looked at the history of postwar popular music and pop culture. From 1989 to 2002 he was the Triple J program director with periods as acting general manager. From 2002 until his initial retirement in 2009 he was the program director at the ABC's DIG internet radio. He was married to writer Angela Webber Angela Webber (12 January 1955 – 10 March 2007) was an Australian author, TV writer, producer and comedian. 4ZZZ (pronounced "Four Triple Zed" or simply "Triple Zed") is an independent community radio station operating in Brisbane, Australia at the frequency 102.1 FM. As a community radio station, 4ZZZ is a member of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA). The station broadcasts to much of South East Queensland, parts of northern New South Wales and web streams from its website. History 4ZZZ was established to provide a radical alternative to mainstream news, to promote a sense of engagement and activism in community life and to promote Australian music. The station began transmission on 8 December 1975 as 4ZZ at 105.7 MHz, the first FM community broadcaster in Brisbane transmitting in stereo. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian Radio in Australia, radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting music of Australia, Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is the national broadcaster of Australia. It is principally funded by direct grants from the Australian Government and is administered by a government-appointed board. Angela Webber
Angela Webber (12 January 1955 – 10 March 2007) was an Australian author, TV writer, producer and comedian. Early life Webber was born in 1955 to Bruce Webber, the head of light entertainment for ABC radio, and Nan, a journalist. She grew up in West Ryde, and was educated at the Presbyterian Ladies' College, Sydney in Croydon (together with schoolmate Johanna Pigott),. where she was elected School Captain and was a winner of a prestigious PLC Gold Medallion in 1972. After finishing school, Webber enrolled at the University of Sydney, where she studied architecture and discovered her passion for writing comedy. Career In 1981, Webber joined the ABC's youth radio network Triple J, as a member of the comedy group The "J-Team", which also included the late Lance Curtis.
