Stuart Flinders
Stuart Flinders (born 1960, in Bolton, Lancashire) is a journalist, reporter and occasional presenter who used to work for BBC North West Tonight. Early life Flinders grew up in Bolton and is a supporter of Bolton Wanderers F.C. Career In 1991, he joined BBC North West Tonight after being hired by Dave Guest. In 2008, he spent six months working for the BBC News channel and presented some weekend bulletins on BBC One during that period. He also occasionally presents BBC Radio 4 programme ''You and Yours''. Before working for the BBC, he spent a short period working for printed media in Australia. He also regularly presented concerts for BBC Radio 3 for around 10 years. County Borough Of Bolton
Bolton was, from 1838 to 1974, a local government district in the northwest of England conterminate with the town of Bolton. History Bolton was created a free Borough in 1253 when William de Ferrers, 5th Earl of Derby, granted a charter. However, the Borough did not develop into a self-governing town, remaining under the control of officials appointed by the lord of the manor. By the eighteenth century the town was rapidly expanding and the Bolton Improvement Act 1792 established two local government bodies for the area: the Great Bolton Improvement Trustees, and the Police Commissioners for the Township of Little Bolton. Bolton Wanderers F
Bolton (, locally ) is a large town in Greater Manchester in North West England, formerly a part of Lancashire. A former mill town, Bolton has been a production centre for textiles since Flemish people, Flemish weavers settled in the area in the 14th century, introducing a wool and cotton-weaving tradition. Dave Guest (Born June 1959) is a journalist, and until October 2020, chief reporter and occasional presenter for ''BBC North West Tonight''. Guest started work at the BBC in 1983 after working as a reporter at the ''Lancaster Guardian'', the ''Wigan Evening Post'' in Wigan and for national newspapers in Manchester. He has been chief reporter at ''North West Tonight'' since 2006, having previously covered education and social affairs. In 2009 Guest won the O2 (United Kingdom), O2 Media Award's Broadcast Journalist of the Year for his interviews with Jessica Knight, a schoolgirl who was stabbed while walking through a park in Lancashire. In 2014 he received the judges’ award for outstanding contribution at the BBC's Ruby Awards for regional television. ''You and Yours'' is a British radio consumer affairs programme, broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and produced by BBC News. History ''You and Yours'' began broadcasting in October 1970, when its first presenter was Joan York. In the 1980s it briefly ran seven days a week. In April 1998 it was increased from a 25-minute programme to 55 minutes.
