Stuart A. Hancox
Stuart Hancox is a literary translator and gained an MFA in Literary Translation and Creative Writing from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was also a doctoral candidate in comparative literature at UArk. Since 2003, he has been working as a User Interface specialist in New York City. Hancox won the University of Arkansas Press Award for his translation of ''Improvisations on a Missing String'' by the Lebanese writer Nazik Saba Yared. He also won the Gary Wilson Award in Translation from the University of Arkansas Press in 1995 and 1996. Fayetteville () is the second-largest city in Arkansas, the county seat of Washington County, and the biggest city in Northwest Arkansas. Nazik Saba Yared
Nazik Saba Yared (born 11 April 1928 in Jerusalem, Palestine) is a Lebanese novelist and academic, a former professor, and a writer. She is the daughter of Alexander and Hala (Maalouf) Saba. She was married to the late Ibrahim Yared and has three children and four grandchildren. She earned her degree in philosophy from Fu'ād al-Awwal University in Cairo followed by a Master's and a Ph.D. in Arabic Literature from the American University of Beirut.
