Ström House
Ström House () is a manor house at Lilla Edet Municipality in Bohuslän, Sweden. It is located west of the Göta River, in the parish of Hjärtum. History Between 1685–91, a manor house with built two wings and a slate roof. In the 1840s, the property was sold to Asmus Heinrich Evers (1793-1877), a wholesaler who had immigrated from Lübeck Lübeck (; or ; Latin: ), officially the Hanseatic League, Hanseatic City of Lübeck (), is a city in Northern Germany. Lilla Edet Municipality () is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Lilla Edet. The present municipality was formed in 1971, when the market town (''köping'') Lilla Edet (instituted as late as 1951) was merged with Flundre (part of), Inlands Torpe and Lödöse. Hjärtum is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality situated in Lilla Edet Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 367 inhabitants in 2010. It is situated on the western side of the Göta älv, a main river on the west coast of Sweden. The name Hjärtum originates from the words "hjort" (deer) and "hem" (home), meaning "home of the deers" and was first written down in the 13th century. From the same century is the oldest parts of the church, from which a great view of the river valley can be seen. Education in Sweden is mandatory for children between ages 5/6 and 15/16 depending on when in the year they were born. The school year in Sweden runs from mid-late August to early/mid-June. The Christmas holiday from mid-December to early January divides the Swedish school year into two terms. Preschool is free for all families. The year children turn six they start the compulsory preschool class (), which acts as a transition phase between preschool and comprehensive schools. Children between ages 5/6 and 15/16 attend comprehensive school where a wide range of subjects are studied. All students study the same subjects, with exception for different language choices. The majority of schools are run municipally, but there are also privately owned schools, known as independent schools.
