Tancred Ibsen
Tancred Ibsen (11 July 1893 – 4 December 1978) was a Norwegian military officer, aviator, film director and screenwriter. Background Ibsen was the son of Sigurd Ibsen and Bergljot Bjørnson. He was the grandson of both Henrik Ibsen and Nobel laureate Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson. He married dancer and actress Lillebil Ibsen in 1919, and remained married to her until his death in 1978. His son Tancred Ibsen, Jr. (1921–2015) was a Norwegian diplomat. Aviation career In 1917, Tancred Ibsen started pilot training at Kjeller Airport and began his career in the Norwegian Army Air Service. He started the first civilian active airplane company, ''A/S Aero'' in 1920, financed by his uncle, businessman Einar Bjørnson, and two shipowners. The company successfully operated demonstration, advertising, and limited mail flights with Ibsen as the head pilot. Arnulf Øverland
Ole Peter Arnulf Øverland (27 April 1889 – 25 March 1968) was a Norwegian poet and artist. He is principally known for his poetry which served to inspire the Norwegian resistance movement during the German occupation of Norway during World War II. Biography Øverland was born in Kristiansund and raised in Bergen. His parents were Peter Anton Øverland (1852–1906) and Hanna Hage (1854–1939). The early death of his father, left the family economically stressed. He was able to attend Bergen Cathedral School and in 1904 Kristiania Cathedral School. He graduated in 1907 and for a time studied philology at University of Kristiania. Øverland published his first collection of poems (1911). Øverland became a communist sympathizer from the early 1920s and became a member of Mot Dag. He also served as chairman of the Norwegian Students' Society 1923–28. Alf Malland
Alf Malland (24 January 1917 – 16 August 1997) was a Norwegian actor. Biography He was born in Bergen, Norway. He began his acting career as a student at the Det Norske Teatret in Oslo. Following the German occupation of Norway during World War II, he quit as a theater student and participated in the resistance. Malland first went to Sweden and in 1942 he left for Great Britain where he trained as a paratrooper. He arrived at Finnmark in November 1944 as company commander with the Norwegian forces. In 1946, he was again at Det Norske Teatret and took up his theater studies. He was first employed there then freelanced. He appeared in 42 films and television shows between 1949 and 1987. Eva Bergh (25 February 1926 – 19 February 2013) was a Norwegian actress. Eva Bergh was born Eva Johansen at Kolbotn in Oppegård, Norway. She was married to the composer Sverre Arvid Bergh (1915–1980) and was the sister-in-law of his brother violinist and orchestral leader Øivind Bergh (1909–1987) She made her debut at Det Nye Teater in Oslo during 1949. She held a prominent position at Den Nationale Scene in Bergen for over 40 years. Ingerid Vardund (24 April 1927 – 25 December 2006) was a Norwegian actress. She was known to the Norwegian audience primarily for her roles in the films '' Jentespranget'' (1973) and the sit-com ' (1980). For her role in ''Jentespranget'', she won the award for Best Actress at the 8th Moscow International Film Festival. Vardund debuted on stage in 1947 at the Chat Noir, and on the screen five years later with the movie ''Andrine og Kjell''. Einar Sissener (21 September 1897 – 4 March 1968) was a Norwegian stage actor, film actor, stage producer, film producer and theatre director. Personal life Einar Rasmus Krag Schnitler Sissener was born in Kristiania as the son of dispensing chemist Einar Andreas Sissener and Ida Cathrine Dorthea Schnitler. He studied law at the University of Oslo for three years without finishing, but was active in student organizations, editing the periodical ''Minerva'', heading the student theatre Samfundsteatret, and a board member of the Norwegian Students' Society. Ola Isene
Ola Isene (2 June 1898 – 6 May 1973) was a Norwegian opera singer (baritone) and actor. Isene was born in Rødenes and studied at the Musikkonservatoriet in Oslo, Kristiania. He made his professional debut at the Mayol-teatret in 1923. His operatic roles were varied, among them Beckmesser in ''Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg'', Scarpia in ''Tosca'', and Amonasro in ''Aïda'' – most of them at the Nationaltheatret, which at the time had opera on its programme. He took part in many tours and also appeared in operettas, including as Schubert in ''Jomfruburet''. In 1929, he sang Al Jolson's parts from The Jazz Singer when it was presented as a silent film in Sweden, and in the middle of the 1930s, he moved to theatre and film as an actor.
