Andrew Myung Stroup (born May 22, 1985) is an engineer and entrepreneur, best known as a participant on the first season of the Discovery Channel's ''The Big Brain Theory''. He currently is the founder of LVRG. Early life Stroup was born in Seoul, South Korea and at the age of four months old, was adopted by an Oklahoma family (David and Jimmye Stroup). George Stroup
George W. Stroup (born 1944) is J.B. Green Professor Emeritus of Theology at Columbia Theological Seminary. He is a minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). He is married to Dr. Donna Fox Stroup, a mathematical statistician. Biography Stroup first studied history at Rice University before attending Yale Divinity School. He pursued his Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University. He taught as an assistant professor at both Princeton Theological Seminary and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary before coming to Columbia Theological Seminary in 1974. In 1986, he was appointed as the J.B. Green Professor of Theology until his retirement in 2014. Keith Stroup is an attorney and founder of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. Biography After graduating from the University of Illinois in 1965, he enrolled in Georgetown Law School and worked in the office of Illinois Senator Everett Dirksen. He graduated from law school in 1968 and began working for the federal Consumer Product Safety Commission. The job put him in contact with consumer activist Ralph Nader whose work inspired Stroup to create a consumer group for cannabis users. Using $5,000 in seed money from the Playboy Foundation, Stroup founded NORML in 1970. He served as executive director until 1979, during which time 11 states adopted marijuana decriminalization laws. Zip To Zap
The Zip to Zap riot of May 9–11, 1969, in Zap, North Dakota, was originally intended as a spring break diversion. As a result of an article that originally appeared in the '' The Spectrum'', student newspaper at North Dakota State University (NDSU), that was later picked up by the Associated Press, between 2000 and 3000 people descended upon the small town of Zap, located in Mercer County in the west central part of the state, nearly from the NDSU campus. The original gathering is sometimes referred to as the Zap Festival. Revelers drank copious quantities of alcohol. As the small country town's resources became depleted, the amiable mood began to turn ugly and Zap's residents asked the visitors to leave. Some complied, but others stayed behind. The event became a full-fledged riot. The National Guard was called in and the crowd was dispersed.
