Strawberry Fields (Indian Festival)
Strawberry Fields is an annual independent music festival held in Bangalore, India. It is India's largest student-organized music festival, and attracts participants and audiences from across India and neighboring countries. The event is organized by the National Law School of India University, primarily by the student body, but with the official support of the university authorities. It provides a platform for semi-professional and college bands to compete and showcase their talent to a live audience of over 8000 people. The competition has built a legacy amongst music enthusiasts and has bolstered the independent music scene in India. It has served as a launch pad for bands like Motherjane, Thermal and a Quarter, Demonic Resurrection, Bhayanak Maut, and Kryptos. Parikrama (band)
Parikrama is a rock band from Delhi, India, formed in 1991 in Delhi. The band is considered to be one of Asia's biggest rock groups; Parikrama toured internationally with Iron Maiden in 2007, playing at the Download Festival in England. The band is known for its high-energy live performances, and has released many singles in its 3 decade long career. In its 2014 listing of "25 Greatest Indian Rock Songs of the last 30+ Years", ''Rolling Stone India'' featured "But It Rained" (2001) by the band. In February 2020, the band's lead guitarist Sonam Sherpa died of cardiac arrest. On October 8, 2020 Parikrama relaunched their 2001 single 'But It Rained' with the entire solo, as was played by Sonam Sherpa.
