Straumen, Trøndelag
Straumen is the administrative centre of the municipality of Inderøy in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located along the Trondheimsfjord at the northeastern side of the Inderøya peninsula, next to the Børgin fjord. The village lies about east of the village of Sakshaug and about west of the villages of Røra and Hylla. The village has a slaughterhouse, a folk high school, and a museum. The Sakshaug Church and the historic Old Sakshaug Church lie just west of Straumen. Inderøya
Inderøya is a peninsula in the Trondheimsfjord in Trøndelag county, Norway. The peninsula constitutes the northern (more populated) part of the municipality of Inderøy (which is named after the peninsula). Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. Old Sakshaug Church
Old Sakshaug Church ( no, Sakshaug gamle kirke) is a preserved, former parish church of the Church of Norway in Inderøy municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Sakshaug, just west of the municipal centre of Straumen. It is the former main church for the Inderøy parish which is part of the Stiklestad prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The stone church was built in a long church style around the year 1184 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 200 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1433, but the church was not built that year. The stone church was likely constructed over a period of time stretching from about 1150 to 1180. The medieval church is one of the oldest churches in Trøndelag. Sakshaug Church
Sakshaug Church ( no, Sakshaug kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Inderøy municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Sakshaug, just west of the municipal centre of Straumen. It is the main church for the Inderøy parish which is part of the Stiklestad prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The large, stone church was built in a Neo-gothic long church style in 1871 using plans drawn up by the architect Håkon Mosling (1840-1914). The church seats about 850 people. An increase in the population in the parish and the requirements of the Church Act of 1851 led to the building of the new church. Røra
Røra is a village in Inderøy municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located on a small peninsula between the Trondheimsfjorden and the Børgin fjord. The village is located about north of the town of Verdalsøra and about south of the town of Steinkjer. Børgin
Børgin or Borgenfjorden is a fjord branch in the eastern part of Trondheimsfjorden in the municipalities of Steinkjer and Inderøy in Trøndelag county, Norway.
