Strathroy Rockets
The Strathroy Rockets are a junior ice hockey team based in Strathroy, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Western division of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. History In 1965, the Rockets joined the old Western Junior "B" league. When most of the league became the Western Junior A league in 1968, the Rockets were not invited. Instead, the team joined the Central "B" league for a year, before moving to the Western Junior B league in 1969, and ceased operations in 1972. The Falcons replaced the Rockets and moved to the Western Junior "D". The team became the Blades in 1975 rejoined the newly re-formed Western "B" league. In 1994, they once again became the Rockets and stayed in the Western "B" ever since. The Rockets won the WOJHL title in 2006-07, defeating the Sarnia Blast in seven games. Don Van Massenhoven
Don Van Massenhoven (born July 17, 1960) is a Canadian retired National Hockey League referee whose career started during the 1993–94 NHL season. He wore uniform number 21. Career Before he became an NHL referee, Van Massenhoven was a police officer. During the 2004–05 NHL lockout, he was a car salesman in his hometown of Strathroy, Ontario. Van Massenhoven was one of two referees (Dan O'Halloran was the other) during a November 21, 2005 game between the Nashville Predators and the Detroit Red Wings at the Joe Louis Arena where Jiri Fischer suddenly suffered a seizure and went into cardiac arrest. The game was later postponed because of what happened and was made up on January 23, 2006. Mike Stapleton
Michael Patrick Stapleton (born May 5, 1966) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played fourteen seasons in the National Hockey League from 1986 until 2001. Throughout his career Stapleton played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, Phoenix Coyotes, Atlanta Thrashers, New York Islanders and Vancouver Canucks. After leaving the NHL he spent several years playing in Europe, retiring in 2004. The son of former NHL player Pat Stapleton, he also played internationally for Canada at the 1986 World Junior Championships, winning a silver medal. After his playing career ended Stapleton served as a coach and since 2014 has been a scout with the Anaheim Ducks. Patrick O'Sullivan (born February 1, 1985) is a Canadian-born American former professional ice hockey forward who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, Carolina Hurricanes, Minnesota Wild and Phoenix Coyotes. Early life O'Sullivan was born in Toronto, Ontario, but grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Andy McDonald (ice Hockey)
Andy McDonald (born August 25, 1977) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player. He played for the Anaheim Ducks and the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL), winning the Stanley Cup with Anaheim in 2007. Playing career McDonald was first coached by his father, who originally had him play defence, but moved him to forward when it became evident he would be too small to make a career as a defenceman. He played in the Strathroy & District Minor Hockey Association and moved onto the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs AAA team. Andy played Junior B hockey for the Strathroy Rockets. Craig MacTavish
Craig MacTavish (born August 15, 1958) is a Canadian professional ice hockey executive and former player, currently in an assistant coaching position with the St. Louis Blues. He played centre for 17 seasons in the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers and St. Louis Blues, winning the Stanley Cup four times (1987, 1988, 1990, 1994). He was the last NHL player not to wear a helmet during games. MacTavish later coached the Oilers from 2000 to 2009 and also served as assistant coach with the Rangers and Oilers. Brian Wesley Campbell (born May 23, 1979) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman.
