Strategic Command (film)
''Strategic Command'' is a 1997 air hijack direct-to-video film directed by Rick Jacobson, starring Michael Dudikoff, and co-starring Richard Norton, Paul Winfield, Bryan Cranston, and Stephen Quadros. The film was written by Sean McGinly and Tripp Reed. Plot Rick Harding (Michael Dudikoff) is a former US Marine officer, now working as biological weapons scientist for the FBI. The movie starts, with Harding's lab being infiltrated, which results in terrorists getting their hands on a deadly nerve agent called Bromax 36. Led by Carlos Gruber ( Richard Norton), the terrorists hijack Air Force Two (the aircraft of the Vice-president), a Boeing VC-25 en route from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. Harding must participate in a midair effort to retake Air Force Two and save the Vice President and his wife. Rick Jacobson
Rick Jacobson is an American film director, television director and producer, and stage and television actor. Biography A graduate from the California Institute of the Arts film and television program, Rick Jacobson began his professional filmmaking career with legendary film producer Roger Corman when he hired Jacobson to direct the martial arts actioner “FULL CONTACT”, Jacobson's first full-length feature film, at the age of 21. With 16 feature films as director, producer and writer to his credit, Jacobson shifted to the small screen where he continues work as director, producer and writer of over 100 episodes of episodic television including "SPARTACUS: Blood and Sand / Gods of the Arena / Vengeance / War of the Damned", "ASH vs EVIL DEAD", "KNIGHTFALL", '' Xena: Warrior Princess''. The Boeing VC-25 is a military version of the Boeing 747 airliner, modified for presidential transport and commonly operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) as ''Air Force One'', the call sign of any U.S. Air Force aircraft carrying the president of the United States. Only two examples of this aircraft type are in service; they are highly modified Boeing 747-200Bs, designated VC-25A and having tail numbers 28000 and 29000. Although technically the ''Air Force One'' designation applies to the aircraft only while the president is on board, the term is commonly used to refer to the VC-25 in general. The two aircraft often operate in conjunction with ''Marine One'' helicopters, which ferry the president to airports whenever a vehicle motorcade would be inappropriate. Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk
The Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk is a retired American single-seat, twin-engine stealth attack aircraft developed by Lockheed's secretive Skunk Works division and operated by the United States Air Force (USAF). It was the first operational aircraft to be designed with stealth technology. The F-117 was based on the ''Have Blue'' technology demonstrator. The Nighthawk's maiden flight took place in 1981 at Groom Lake, Nevada, and the aircraft achieved initial operating capability status in 1983. The aircraft was shrouded in secrecy until it was revealed to the public in 1988. Of the 64 F-117s built, 59 were production versions, with the other five being prototypes. The F-117 was widely publicized for its role in the Gulf War of 1991. Although it was commonly referred to as the "Stealth Fighter", it was strictly an attack aircraft. Oceanic Airlines, and less frequently, Oceanic Airways, is the name of a fictional airline used in several films, television programs, and comic books—typically works that feature plane crashes and other aviation disasters, with which a real airline would prefer not to be associated. The brand is used prominently in the TV series '' Lost,'' where Oceanic Airlines is featured branded with a highly stylized logo depicting an Australian Aboriginal dot painting that resembles a nazar, a bullseye, an island, or an " O". Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird
The Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" is a long-range, high-altitude, Mach 3+ strategic reconnaissance aircraft developed and manufactured by the American aerospace company Lockheed Corporation. It was operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) and NASA. The SR-71 was developed as a black project from the Lockheed A-12 reconnaissance aircraft during the 1960s by Lockheed's Skunk Works division. American aerospace engineer Clarence "Kelly" Johnson was responsible for many of the aircraft's innovative concepts. The shape of the SR-71 was based on that of the A-12, which was one of the first aircraft to be designed with a reduced radar cross-section. Boeing 747
The Boeing 747 is a large, long-range wide-body airliner designed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes in the United States between 1968 and 2022. After introducing the 707 in October 1958, Pan Am wanted a jet times its size, to reduce its seat cost by 30%. In 1965, Joe Sutter left the 737 development program to design the 747, the first twin-aisle airliner. In April 1966, Pan Am ordered 25 Boeing 747-100 aircraft and in late 1966, Pratt & Whitney agreed to develop the JT9D engine, a high-bypass turbofan. On September 30, 1968, the first 747 was rolled out of the custom-built Everett Plant, the world's largest building by volume.
