Strashimira Filipova
Strashimira Filipova (Bulgarian Cyrillic: Страшимира Филипова) (born August 18, 1985) is a Bulgaria, Bulgarian volleyball player. She represented the Bulgaria women's national volleyball team, Bulgaria national team at the 2005 Women’s European Volleyball Championship, which marked her debut for the national side. Career Her youth years were spent with VC CSKA Sofia and she played for their senior team (2001-2003, 2004-2005). She has also donned the colours of the Slavia Sofia volleyball team (2003-2004). Filipova is also a former member of the RC Cannes team. Filipova initially focused on the high jump, but switched to volleyball when she was in grade 9. In 2009, she was part of the squad that finished in third place at the 2009 Women's European Volleyball League. Sofia
Sofia ( ; bg, София, Sofiya, ) is the capital and largest city of Bulgaria. It is situated in the Sofia Valley at the foot of the Vitosha mountain in the western parts of the country. 2011 Women's European Volleyball Championship
The 2011 Women's European Volleyball Championship was the 27th edition of the European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the Confédération Européenne de Volleyball. It was hosted in Italy and Serbia from 23 September to 2 October 2011. Qualification Format The tournament was played in two different stages. In the first stage, the sixteen participants were divided in four groups of four teams each. A single round-robin format was played within each group to determine the teams group position, the three best teams of each group (total of 12 teams) progressed to the second stage, with group winners advancing to the quarterfinals while second and third placed advancing to the playoffs. The 2013 Women's European Volleyball League was the fifth edition of the annual Women's European Volleyball League, which featured women's national volleyball teams from eight European countries. A preliminary league round was played from June 13 to July 6, and the final four tournament, which was held in Bulgaria on July 11–12, 2013. The 2012 Women's European Volleyball League was the fourth edition of the annual Women's European Volleyball League, which featured women's national volleyball teams from twelve European countries. A preliminary league round was played from June 1 to June 30, and the final four tournament, which was held at the Czech Republic on July 5–6, 2012. During the league round, competing nations were drawn into three pools of four teams, and every team hosted a tournament with three other teams and playing a round-robin system over three days. One standings table was used, combined with all four tournaments. The Pool winners and the best runner up qualified for the final four round, joining the host team. Eva Yaneva
Eva Yaneva (Bulgarian Cyrillic: Ева Янева, born 31 July 1985 in Sofia) is a Bulgarian volleyball player. She currently plays for Volero Le Cannet in France. Career She started playing volleyball in 1996 at the age of 11 with CSKA Sofia. Yaneva has played for teams that finished 7th and 8th in the 2004 and 2006 European Championships, respectively; the 2006 champion of the French Cup; and three champions of Bulgaria. National team Yaneva is a key player for the Bulgaria women's national volleyball team and has captained it on occasions. In 2011, she was banned from participating in the 2011 Women's European Volleyball Championship due to supposed disciplinary breaches, but has since then been reinstated to the national side and continues to be a regular for the team. She competed at the 2021 Women's European Volleyball League, winning a gold medal.
