''Strangers from the Sky'' is a novel, originally released in 1987, by Margaret Wander Bonanno. Overview The novel is an adventure involving the original Star Trek series cast and journeys through many eras of the Trek timeline. The story is presented as a book within a book featuring excerpts from a novel called ''Strangers from the Sky'' by fictional author Garamet Jen-Saunor which claims that the official records of how the Human and Vulcan races met for the first time were incorrect. The beginning and ending of the book takes place during James T. Kirk's years in the admiralty when he begins to suffer from psychological issues after reading Jen-Saunor's book which is a gift from Doctor McCoy. Kirk becomes somewhat obsessed with the story and starts to have disturbing dreams in which he is present during the book's events which, in the dreams, result in disaster. Starfleet
Starfleet is a fictional organization in the ''Star Trek'' media franchise. Where No Man Has Gone Before
"Where No Man Has Gone Before" is the third episode of the first season of the American science fiction television series, ''Star Trek''. Written by Samuel A. Peeples and directed by James Goldstone, it first aired on September 22, 1966. In the episode, after the ''Enterprise'' attempts to cross the energy barrier at the edge of the galaxy, two crew members develop powerful ESP abilities which threaten the safety of the crew. The episode was the second pilot, produced in 1965 after the first pilot, " The Cage", was rejected by NBC. Reportedly, Lucille Ball, who owned Desilu Productions (where the pilot was produced), persuaded NBC management to consider a second pilot, thereby exercising a special option agreement it had with Desilu, because she liked Gene Roddenberry and believed in the project. Gary Mitchell (Star Trek)
Gary Mitchell (born 3 May 1965) is a Northern Irish playwright. By the 2000s, he had become "one of the most talked about voices in European theatre ... whose political thrillers have arguably made him Northern Ireland's greatest playwright". From a working-class, loyalist background, Mitchell's first foray into writing was for Radio 4. His first play was produced by Tinderbox but Mitchell's first major theatre success was the production (by Connall Morrison) of his ''In A Little World of Our Own at the Peacock'', a gripping and unflinching portrayal of loyalist culture.
