Stranger In Dreams
Say No More was an American four-piece rock band from Salinas, California, United States, formed in December 2001. The band independently released two records — 2004's '' Stranger in Dreams'' and 2006's '' The Transition''. In August 2005, the quartet relocated to Los Angeles, California to attend California State University, Northridge. Shortly thereafter, they placed first in 2006's "Best Music on Campus" award — a battle of the bands competition held by Drive-Thru Records in cooperation with mtvU — which led to a recording contract with the record label. Preceded by the songs "This Is Our Way" and "Long Drive Home", ''What You Thought You Knew'' was released in October 2007. Salinas, California
Salinas (; Spanish for "Salt Marsh or Salt Flats") is a city in California and the county seat of Monterey County. With a population of 163,542 in the 2020 Census, Salinas is the most populous city in Monterey County. Drive-Thru Records Artists
Drive-Thru Records was a California-based independent record label owned by siblings Richard and Stefanie Reines. The label was partially responsible for popularizing the pop-punk/emo merger sound of the early to mid-2000s. After facing financial obstacles in getting their bands' music into stores, Drive-Thru entered into a distribution deal with MCA/Universal. In 2003 MCA was dissolved and folded into Geffen Records. One of the clauses of that agreement was MCA/Geffen being able to sign any band of their choosing from Drive-Thru's roster. Once the Universal deal ended, they signed a contract with independent label Sanctuary Records. Starting with a new roster, the label garnered a top 10 platinum hit with "Here In Your Arms" by Hellogoodbye. PureVolume
PureVolume (formerly Unborn Media) was a website for uploading and streaming of music files, the first independently run of its type. PureVolume was created by Unborn Media, Inc; Mitchell Pavao; Brett Woitunski; and Nate Hudson, all from the University of Massachusetts. PureVolume is a website for the discovery and promotion of new music and emerging artists. The mission was to give artists a new promotion tool. Each artist has a profile that typically contains basic info, updates, photos, shows and music for streaming. Artists have the option of making each of their songs available for free download. Listeners and fans are also able to create profiles to interact with artists and each other, as well as track and share music they like.
