Win Stracke
Winfred "Win" J. Stracke (February 20, 1908 – June 29, 1991) was an American folk musician and co-founder of the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, Illinois. Stracke was a Chicago fixture in music, theater, and television in the 1940s and was known for his booming bass voice. Nationally he was known as "Uncle Win" to viewers of his syndicated children's television show on NBC until it was canceled in the wake of the 1950s blacklist. Early life Stracke was born in Lorraine, Kansas but grew up in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood, and had ties to the area his entire life. He was the son of German immigrants and his father was a preacher. He discovered his singing talent while still in high school. Stracke had some operatic training, but his interests in the labor movement and American frontier history would draw him towards American folk music. 1019 Strackea, provisional designation , is a stony Hungaria asteroid of the inner asteroid belt, approximately 8 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 3 March 1924, by astronomer Karl Reinmuth at Heidelberg Observatory in southwest Germany. It is named for German astronomer Gustav Stracke. Classification and orbit ''Strackea'' is a member of the Hungaria group, a dynamical group forming the innermost dense concentration of asteroids in the Solar System. It is, however, a non-family asteroid of the background population, and not a member of the (collisional) Hungaria family. It orbits the Sun at a distance of 1.8–2.0 AU once every 2 years and 8 months (965 days). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.07 and an inclination of 27 ° with respect to the ecliptic. The body's observation arc begins with its official discovery observation at Heidelberg in 1924. Stephan Stracke (born 1 April 1974) is a German lawyer and politician of the Christian Social Union (CSU) who has been serving as a member of the Bundestag from the state of Bavaria since 2009. Political career Stracke first became a member of the Bundestag in the 2009 German federal election, elected with a mandate in Oberallgäu. He is a member of the Committee for Labour and Social Affairs. In the negotiations to form a coalition government following the 2013 federal elections, Stracke was part of the CDU/CSU delegation in the working group on health policy, led by Jens Spahn and Karl Lauterbach. In April 2021, Stracke succeeded Georg Nüßlein as deputy chair of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, under the leadership of chairman Ralph Brinkhaus. Karl-Friedrich Stracke (born June 22, 1956 in Lichtenfels-Goddelsheim) is a German engineer and was Chairman of the Management Board & Chief Executive Officer of Adam Opel AG. Biography Karl-Friedrich Stracke was President, GM Europe and CEO of Adam Opel AG. Stracke, who was born on June 22, 1956, in the German town of Lichtenfels-Goddelsheim, draws on 30 years of experience with Opel and GM. He began his career as a mechanical engineer in the area of body-in-white construction in 1979. Following additional studies in economics at the GM University in Flint, United States, he advanced to a management position in chassis construction in 1984. In 1991 he became head of the department. After being appointed Chief Engineer of production technology for stamping and sub-assemblies in 1993, he took on a series of cross-departmental responsibilities, including the position of Manufacturing Director at the Opel plant in Bochum, Germany, from 1995 onward.
