Storžič
Storžič (; ) is the highest mountain in the western part of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps. The top is a nicely shaped cone ( sl, storž), from which the mountain got its name. Storžič has a good panoramic view. To the south are the Ljubljana Basin, Mount Krim, the Javornik Hills, Mount Snežnik, the Nanos Plateau, and the Škofja Loka Hills. To the west are the Julian Alps with prominent Mount Triglav. To the north are the Karawanks with Mount Stol, Mount Begunjščica, and Mount Košuta. To the east are the Jezersko Cirque, Mount Grintovec, the Kalce Ridge and Mount Krvavec. Storžič Lodge
The Storžič Lodge ( sl, Dom pod Storžičem; ) is a mountain hut, mountain hostel in the upper part of the Lomščica Valley, near the Jesenje Pasture in northwestern Slovenia. The first lodge was built in 1938 and was called the Verbič Lodge (); it caught fire one year later. It burned in 1941 when German forces attacked the Storžič Battalion. The current brown shingled hut was built in 1951. Kamnik–Savinja Alps
The Kamnik–Savinja Alps ( sl, Kamniško-Savinjske Alpe) are a mountain range of the Southern Limestone Alps. They lie in northern Slovenia, except for the northernmost part, which lies in Austria. The western part of the range was named the Kamnik Alps (german: Steiner Alpen) in 1778 by the scientists Belsazar Hacquet and Franz Xaver von Wulfen, after the town of Kamnik (''Stein'') in the valley of the Kamnik Bistrica River. Its eastern part was named the Savinja Alps (''Sanntaler Alpen'') or Solčava Alps (''Sulzbacher Alpen'') by the mountaineer Johannes von Frischauf in 1875, after the settlement of Solčava (''Sulzbach'') and the main river, the upper Savinja (''Sann''). Begunjščica
Begunjščica is a ridge mountain in the Karawanks. It rises from the western Smokuč mountain pasture ( sl, Smokuška planina) to St. Anne () on its eastern side. The mountain has three main peaks, the highest being Big Peak (, ). The western Middle Peak () lies a little lower, and the lowest is Begunje Mount Vrtača (, ). Its southern slopes rise over the Draga Valley. The ascent of the mountain is relatively easy and possible throughout the year. In the winter and early spring conditions are favourable for ski touring. Kranj
Kranj (, german: Krainburg) is the third-largest city in Slovenia, with a population of 37,941 (2020). It is located approximately northwest of Ljubljana. The centre of the City Municipality of Kranj and of the traditional region of Upper Carniola (northwestern Slovenia) is a mainly industrial city with significant electronics and rubber industries. Trstenik, Serbia
Trstenik ( sr-cyr, Трстеник, ) is a town and municipality located in the Rasina District of central Serbia. As of 2011 census, the town has 15,329, while the municipality has 42,989 inhabitants. It lies on the West Morava river. History In the Early and Middle Iron Age, the tribe of Triballi inhabited the West Morava. Romans conquered the area in the 1st century AD. Roman sites include the Stražbe ''castrum'' on the right bank of the river, as well as sites in Bučje and Donji Dubić, and others still unexplored. The Romans introduced the ''Vitis vinifera'' (Common Grape Vine) to the region, which still today is processed in Serbian wineyards (It is one of the main incomes in the municipality). Jezersko, Slovenia
The Municipality of Jezersko (; sl, Občina Jezersko ) is a municipality in northern Slovenia. In 1995, Jezersko became part of Preddvor and became an independent municipality in 1998. Originally located in the historic region of Carinthia, it became part of the Upper Carniola Statistical Region in 2005. The seat of the municipality is the town of Zgornje Jezersko. Jezersko is located in the remote Kokra Valley in the Kamnik–Savinja Alps, south of the Seeberg Saddle mountain pass and the border with the Austrian state of Carinthia. History The name of the area derives from a glacial lake near the settlement of Zgornje Jezersko that started to disappear after an earthquake in 1348. Spodnje Jezersko
Spodnje Jezersko (; literally, 'Lower Jezersko') is a settlement in the Municipality of Jezersko in Slovenia. It is part of the traditional region of Carinthia and the Upper Carniola Statistical Region.
