Story Of Piera
''The Story of Piera'' ( it, Storia di Piera) is a 1983 Italian drama film directed by Marco Ferreri. Hanna Schygulla won the award for Best Actress at the 1983 Cannes Film Festival. Plot The film starts in one of the new towns of Latina with the birth of Piera, daughter of the somewhat unbalanced Eugenia and her apparently sane husband Lorenzo, who has a job with the PCI. Eugenia's behaviour at home and in public becomes increasingly erratic and when on top of this Lorenzo loses his post, the strain puts him into a mental hospital. Piera leaves school to work for a dressmaker and pursues her dream of acting, eventually breaking into television and theatre. Interleaved with her outside life we see her sexual development, from kissing neighbourhood boys to a lesbian relationship while she is in hospital with breathing problems and finally to adult men. Marco Ferreri
Marco Ferreri (11 May 1928 – 9 May 1997) was an Italian film director, screenwriter and actor, who began his career in the 1950s directing three films in Spain, followed by 24 Italian films before his death in 1997. He is considered one of the greatest European cinematic provocateurs of his time and had a constant presence in prestigious festival circuit - including eight films in competition in Cannes Film Festival and a Golden Bear win in 1991 Berlin Film Festival. Three of his films are among 100 film italiani da salvare, 100 films selected for preservation for significant contribution to Italian cinema. Biography He was born in Milan. The Italian Communist Party ( it, Partito Comunista Italiano, PCI) was a communist political party in Italy. The PCI was founded as ''Communist Party of Italy'' on 21 January 1921 in Livorno by seceding from the Italian Socialist Party (PSI). Renato Cecchetto (28 October 1951 – 23 January 2022) was an Italian actor who specialized in dubbing. Life and career In the 1970s, Cecchetto attended the Silvio d'Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts and began his career working with film directors like Mario Monicelli and Carlo Vanzina. However, he was best known for being a voice actor: he gave his voice to Shrek in the ''Shrek'' franchise and to nearly all the Disney Pixar characters originally voiced by John Ratzenberger, including Hamm from the ''Toy Story'' film series.
