''Stormblåst'' (English: ''Stormblown'') is the second studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir. It was released on 25 January 1996 through Cacophonous Records, re-released in 2001 by Century Media, and completely re-recorded in 2005, released as ''Stormblåst MMV'' (see below). It was Dimmu Borgir's last album sung entirely in the band's native Norwegian, as they would change to English afterwards. This is also the first album where Tjodalv switched to drums as opposed to guitar, the first where Shagrath is on vocals, though he took on the role of backing vocals, and this album was the bands last album with Silenoz on lead vocals, with him later switching more to a backing vocal role with the band. With every subsequent release, Shagrath has been the lead vocalist. Dimmu Borgir
Dimmu Borgir () is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Jessheim, formed in 1993. The name is derived from Dimmuborgir, a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic language, Icelandic, Faroese language, Faroese and Old Norse. Death Cult Armageddon
''Death Cult Armageddon'' is the sixth studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released on 9 September 2003. It has since sold over 100,000 copies in the United States; the first album under Nuclear Blast to do so; and debuted on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart at number 169. The song "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse" was released as a single with an accompanying music video. This would also be the last album to have Nick Barker on drums and the only one featuring full-scale orchestral ensemble (recorded in Prague). The artwork within the album, done by Swiss artist Joachim Luetke, displays what appears to be an industrial factory, inside of which the band members are living out their fantasies, some of which are similar to scenes seen in the music video for "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse". In Sorte Diaboli
''In Sorte Diaboli'' (Latin for "In league with the devil") is the seventh studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released in 2007. It is the band's first concept album. A site on the Nuclear Blast website was created for ''In Sorte Diaboli'', in which a new promotional photo can be seen and an audio sample can be heard. This would be the last album by Dimmu Borgir to feature ICS Vortex, Hellhammer and Mustis. Concept ''In Sorte Diaboli'' is the band's first concept album, with a story located in medieval Europe. It is about a priest who begins to doubt his faith, and then ends up taking the place of the Antichrist. "There's this dude that works as a priest's assistant, and after a while he just discovers that he has nothing to do with Christianity", Silenoz says. Silenoz
Silenoz (born Sven Atle Kopperud, 1 March 1977) is a Norwegian guitarist who is a founding member, along with Shagrath and Tjodalv, of the symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, of which he is the primary songwriter. He is also guitarist for the death metal supergroup Insidious Disease. Biography Silenoz has been Dimmu Borgir's guitarist since they started. He also composes and writes lyrics for most of the band's songs. He contributed vocals (on '' Stormblåst'', its re-recording, and ''Godless Savage Garden'') and bass (on '' Stormblåst MMV''). He also sang lead vocals on their debut album '' For All Tid''. At first, he was known only as Erkekjetter Silenoz (''Arch-Heretic Silenoz'' in Norwegian). Agony (1992 Video Game)
''Agony'' is a horizontally scrolling shooter with a surreal fantasy background. It was released by Psygnosis in 1992 for the Amiga. The game was developed by the company Art & Magic, which was originally known as Ordilogic Systems. Agony was the only Amiga game developed under the Art & Magic name, as after Agony was released, Art & Magic started developing arcade video games exclusively. ''Agony'' features a barn owl flying its way through six worlds filled with monsters. The owl uses various waves of echolocation which the player fires at the enemies. Plot According to the manual backstory, the sun-wizard master Acanthopsis discovers the "Cosmic Power" with a toll on his life. Before dying he teaches it to his disciples, Alestes and Mentor. Alestes has been transformed into a barn owl, and has to pass through Mentor's traps and monsters in order to reach the Cosmic Power. Stian Aarstad
Stian Aarstad is a Norwegian pianist and keyboard player best known for his four-year (1993–1997) stint with the symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir during which he played keyboards and synthesizers Dimmu Borgir's second album Stormblåst (1996) was criticised for plagiarism. Stian Aarstad was accused of plagiarising the Magnum track "Sacred Hour" in the opening song "Alt lys er svunnet hen" ("All Light Has Faded Away"), as well as the title track of the Amiga game "Agony" for the song "Sorgens kammer" ("Chamber of Sorrow"). The band re-recorded the album in 2005, omitting these tracks. Tony Laureano
Tony Laureano is a heavy metal drummer originally from Puerto Rico. He has played for a number of metal bands (either as a full band member or a session drummer) including Dimmu Borgir, Nile, Angelcorpse, Malevolent Creation, God Dethroned, Acheron, Aurora Borealis, Belphegor, Nachtmystium, 1349 and Brujeria. He was the touring drummer for Dimmu Borgir during their performances at Ozzfest 2004, and Wacken Open Air in 2007 (a recording of the Ozzfest show was included with the 2005 reissue of '' Stormblåst''). Laureano also took the place of 1349 drummer Frost on the Enslaved tour during September 2006 in the UK, as Frost was busy writing material with Satyricon. Tjodalv
Ian Kenneth Åkesson (born 1976), known professionally as Tjodalv, is a Norwegian drummer. He is a founding member of the black metal bands Dimmu Borgir and Old Man's Child. He now plays in Black Comedy and Susperia. Tjodalv played guitar on the first Dimmu Borgir albums '' Inn i evighetens mørke'' and '' For all tid''. He then switched to drumming for them on Stormblåst and continued with this until 1999. Due to his family, he left Dimmu Borgir. He was replaced by Nick Barker, formerly of Cradle of Filth. Shortly before leaving Dimmu Borgir, he founded the group Susperia, with whom he remains active to date. ''For all tid'' ( Norwegian: "For All Time") is the debut studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir. It was released in 1995 through No Colours. It was remastered and re-released in 1997 through their new label Nuclear Blast with the front cover art in full color and the entire '' Inn i evighetens mørke'' EP added. It is the band's only studio album on which Shagrath is on drums, Tjodalv on guitar and Silenoz on vocals. The artwork displayed on the front cover of the album is inspired by Gustave Doré's illustration of Camelot from ''Idylls of the King''.
