Stoney Woodson
Stoney Woodson (born October 11, 1985) is a former American football cornerback. He was drafted by the New York Giants in the seventh round in the 2009 NFL Draft. He played college football at South Carolina. Woodson was also a member of the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He attended George S. Middleton High School in Tampa, FL, and played for the Middleton High School Tigers high school football team. Professional career New York Giants Woodson was drafted by the New York Giants in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He suffered an ankle injury prior to the start of the 2009 season and was placed on injured reserve. The Giants gave him an injury settlement on September 6, 2009. Cornerback
A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties. The cornerback position requires speed, agility, strength, and the ability to make rapid sharp turns. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. The Arena Football League (AFL) was a professional arena football league in the United States. It was founded in 1986, but played its first official games in the 1987 season, making it the third longest-running professional football league in North America after the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the National Football League (NFL) until the AFL closed in 2019. The Indoor Football League (IFL) is a professional indoor American football league created in 2008 out of the merger between the Intense Football League and United Indoor Football. It has one of the largest number of currently active teams among indoor football leagues. The league has operated continuously under the same name and corporate structure longer than any other current indoor football league. With the closure of the Arena Football League in 2019, the IFL is the oldest active professional indoor football league in North America. Jack Ikegwuonu (born January 7, 1986) is a former American football cornerback. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at Wisconsin. Early years Ikegwuonou was born in Jackson, Mississippi to medical professionals, Patty and Fidelis Ikegwuonu, and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. He attended and played football at James Madison Memorial High School. Ikegwuonu earned first-team all-state honors as a split end and defensive back, All-Midwest Region honors, and All-Area accolades.
