Arthur Stoll
Arthur Stoll (8 January 1887 – 13 January 1971) was a Swiss biochemist. Education and career The son of a teacher and school headmaster, he studied chemistry at the ETH Zurich, with a PhD in 1911, where he studied with Richard Willstätter. In 1912, he became a research assistant at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Chemistry in Berlin, with Richard Willstätter, with whom he explored important insights on the importance of chlorophyll in carbon assimilation. In 1917, he was appointed professor of chemistry at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. In the same year, he was hired as head of the pharmaceutical department of the Sandoz (now Novartis) chemical factory in Basel. In this company, he was president from 1949 to 1956, Director from 1964 he held the office of President of the Board. Jarret Stoll
Jarret Lee Stoll (born June 24, 1982) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. Stoll has played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers and Minnesota Wild. He is a two-time Stanley Cup champion, winning with Los Angeles in 2012 and 2014. Stoll is currently part of the player development department for the Kings. Playing career Minor Stoll played his early minor hockey in Saskatchewan. He started in the small town of Neudorf, shortly thereafter moving on to minor hockey in Melville, and then to Yorkton, Saskatchewan. The Stoll kidnapping was a 1934 crime in Louisville, Kentucky that made the front page of national newspapers and magazines as an FBI investigation under the Federal Kidnapping Act. In 2016, ''Louisville Magazine'' writer Brian Hunt called the Stoll kidnapping "Louisville's crime of the century." Alice Speed-Stoll, wife of oil company executive Berry V. Stoll, was kidnapped in October 1934 and held in Indianapolis for a $50,000 ransom by Thomas H. Robinson, Jr. While the kidnapper's wife was apprehended by the FBI almost immediately, Robinson was not arrested until May 11, 1936, when he was taken at gunpoint in Glendale, California by FBI agents including John Bugas. Stoll Pictures was a British film production and distribution company of the silent era, founded in April 1918. Background During the early to mid-1920s it was the largest film company in Britain and one of the biggest in Europe. Its major domestic rival was the Ideal Film Company. Stoll's films were primarily made at its Cricklewood Studios, although the smaller Surbiton Studios were also used during the early years of the company's existence. The company takes its name from its founder Sir Oswald Stoll, better known today as a theatre owner. Stoll produced a series of expensive films during the early 1920s such as ''The Four Feathers'' and '' The Prodigal Son'' at a cost of £37,000 was at the time the most expensive British production ever. The Red Army Faction (RAF) existed in West Germany from 1970 to 1998, committing numerous crimes, especially in the autumn of 1977, which led to a national crisis that became known as the "German Autumn". The RAF was founded in 1970 by Andreas Baader, Gudrun Ensslin, Ulrike Meinhof, Horst Mahler, and others. The first generation of the organization was commonly referred to by the press and the government as the "Baader-Meinhof Gang", a name the group did not use to refer to itself. The RAF was responsible for 34 deaths, including many secondary targets such as chauffeurs and bodyguards, and many injuries in its almost 30 years of activity. Randy C. Stoll (born 1945 in Seattle, Washington) was an American basketball player. Stoll played college basketball at Washington State University. While at Washington State, Stoll was leading the Cougars in scoring in his sophomore season before becoming academically ineligible at mid-season and sitting out the 1965–66 season. He played the 1966–67 season as a redshirt junior, averaging 11 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Following the season, he chose to leave school for professional basketball.
