Stockholm Records is a Swedish subsidiary of Universal Music Group, founded in 1992, and known for signing musicians such as Army of Lovers and E-Type. Overview The boutique label was originally launched in 1992 as an independent record company by its Swedish founders Ola Håkansson and Alexander Bard in partnership with the original distributor and investor PolyGram in London. Håkansson and Bard ran the company for the first six years, achieving global success with multi-platinum-selling artists like Army of Lovers, The Cardigans, A-Teens, E-Type and Lisa Miskovsky. Another noteworthy signing during this period was Johan Renck, who was originally signed under the artist name Stakka Bo but later became far more famous as a music video director, working for artists like Madonna, Beyoncé and Robbie Williams. Universal Music Group N.V. (often abbreviated as UMG and referred to as just Universal Music) is a Dutch– American multinational music corporation under Dutch law. Stakka Bo
Bo Johan Renck (born 5 December 1966) is a Swedish director of music videos, TV and film. He was originally a singer-songwriter from 1991 to 2001, using the moniker Stakka Bo, and had an international hit with his single " Here We Go" in 1993. Renck later became a music-video and television director, winning an Emmy Award in 2019 for his work on the mini-series ''Chernobyl''. Early life Renck was born on 5 December 1966 in Uppsala, Sweden, the son of medical doctor and professor Hans Renck and nurse Marina Kylberg. Hans taught at several universities around the world, so the Renck family moved around and lived in Miami, Uppsala, Malmö, Tromsø and Kuwait. TEN Music Group is a Swedish independent record label headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. The label was founded by Ola HÃ¥kansson in 2003. Murlyn Music Group AB or just Murlyn Music (MMG) is Stockholm-based international music production company founded in 1997 by Anders Bagge. The company includes a great number of successful songwriters, producers and musicians and has produced and written material for tens of international artists. The company has many studios in various locations (known as Murlyn Studios), a publishing division Murlyn Songs (initially headed by Pelle Lidell). Cheiron Studios
Cheiron Studios () was a recording studio located in the Kungsholmen district of Stockholm, Sweden. Founded in 1992 by Denniz PoP and Tom Talomaa, it was famous for being the place where popular music acts of the late 1990s/early 2000s such as Backstreet Boys, Boyzone, Robyn, NSYNC, Britney Spears, and Westlife, produced many of their greatest hits. In addition, Cheiron Studios was also a record label (Cheiron Records) in affiliation with BMG for a while, and a music publishing service (Cheiron Songs), although those ventures were abandoned in favour of music production. After Denniz PoP's death in 1998, Cheiron closed in 2000. Talomaa and Max Martin reformed the company as Maratone, while Kristian Lundin and Jake Schulze formed The Location and David Kreuger and Per Magnusson started A Side Productions.
