Stigmata (Russian Band)
Stigmata is a Russian metalcore band based in Saint Petersburg that formed in 2000. History Stigmata was formed in 2002 by Taras Umansky (guitar) and Denis Kichenko (bass guitar) as a nameless band. The band got its name a few months later. Some journalists said that the name has a religious background. In 2004, Nikita Ignatyev (drums) and vocalist Artyom Lotskih joined the band. In the first time of being a band, the group organized concerts and a music video on their own. The same year, the band signed a recording contract with Russian music label Kap-Kan Records and recorded the first full-length album entitled ''Конвейер снов'' (English: ''Conveyor of Dreams''). The album was re-released in May 2005. The third album ''Больше чем любовь'' (''More than Love'') was released in September 2005. Caliban are a German metalcore band from Essen. To date, they have released thirteen studio albums and two EPs, along with two split albums with Heaven Shall Burn. History Caliban was formed in Essen, Germany in 1997 as ''Never Again''. In the beginning, the band consisted of vocalists Andreas Dörner and Marc Ulfig, guitarists Björn Kaiser and Marc Görtz, bassist Engin Güres and drummer Kai Kogelheide. With this lineup, a self-titled demo was recorded. After six months of playing together and several member changes – Ulfig, Kaiser and Kogelheide left, the latter were replaced by Claus Wilgenbusch and Robert Krämer – the band recorded two songs for a demo, which was never released. Everett Joseph "Vic" Firth (June 2, 1930 – July 26, 2015) was an American musician and the founder of Vic Firth Company (formerly Vic Firth, Inc.), a company that makes percussion mallet, percussion sticks and mallets. Biography Vic Firth was born June 2, 1930, in Winchester, Massachusetts. He was raised in Sanford, Maine by parents Everett E. and Rosemary Firth, where he graduated from Sanford High School. Son of a successful trumpet player, he started learning the cornet at age four, turning later to percussion, trombone, clarinet, piano, and music arrangement. When he reached high school, he was a full-time percussionist, and created an 18-piece band at age 16. He played a variety of percussion instruments such as vibraphone, timpani, and the drum set. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Graspop Metal Meeting is a Belgian heavy metal festival held in Dessel each year since 1996, excluding 2020 and 2021 due to covid restrictions.
