Eduardo Galeano
Eduardo Hughes Galeano (; 3 September 1940 – 13 April 2015) was a Uruguayan journalist, writer and novelist considered, among other things, "global soccer's pre-eminent man of letters" and "a literary giant of the Latin American left". Galeano's best-known works are ''Las venas abiertas de América Latina'' (''Open Veins of Latin America'', 1971) and ''Memoria del fuego'' (''Memory of Fire Trilogy'', 19826). Maria Kalesnikava (Marya Alyaksandrauna Kalesnikava, , ; Maria Aleksandrovna Kolesnikova, Russian: Мария Александровна Колесникова, ; born 24 April 1982) is a Belarusian professional flautist and political activist. In 2020, she headed Viktor Babariko’s electoral campaign during presidential elections of 2020 in Belarus. Magda Gad (born 17 October 1975 in Falun) is a Swedish war correspondent and Middle Eastern analyst who writes, photographs and films her stories. She has been a correspondent for the Swedish media outlet ''Expressen'' since 2015''.'' Gad came to international prominence in June 2016 by covering the assault on Mosul in Iraq, where she reported the war against ISIS. Britta Margareta Marakatt-Labba (born September 18, 1951, in Idivuoma, Karesuando, Sweden) is a Swedish Sámi textile artist, painter, graphic artist, and a member of the Máze Group. Early life and education Marakatt-Labba is one of nine children born into a reindeer-herding family. When she was five, her father Johannes Marakatt died, leaving her mother Anna Maria Nutti to raise nine children by herself. She studied at Sunderby Folk High School ( sv, Sunderby folkhögskola) from 1971 to 1973. Anders Kompass
Per Anders Gunnar Kompass (born 25 August 1955) is a Swedish diplomat and former UN official. He worked as the field operations director at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) between 2009 and 2016. Kompass acted as a whistleblower when he advised French authorities about a report on child sexual abuse carried out by French Peacekeepers in the Central African Republic between December 2013 and July 2014. The French authorities rapidly took action to investigate the allegations in the report. The investigations of fourteen soldiers are still ongoing. Ali Ahmad Said Esber (, North Levantine: ; born 1 January 1930), also known by the pen name Adonis or Adunis ( ar, أدونيس ), is a Syrian poet, essayist and translator. He led a modernist revolution in the second half of the 20th century, "exerting a seismic influence" on Arabic poetry comparable to T.S. Eliot's in the anglophone world. No one is illegal is a loosely connected international network, which advocates for refugees and migrants present in a country unlawfully. Activists in the network take initiatives in favor of migrants who stay in a country illegally and are at risk of deportation. The network has started a campaign and held rallies to bring wider attention to the situation of refugees. The campaign initially began in Germany as No Person Is Illegal (German: ''Kein Mensch ist illegal'' or ''kmii'') and has spread to other countries, including Canada and Belgium.
