Stian Tomt Thoresen (born 18 November 1976),Shagrath at Encyclopaedia Metallum known professionally as Shagrath, is a Norwegian musician who is the vocalist, founding member and multi-instrumentalist of the band Dimmu Borgir. Biography Stian Thoresen was born on 18 November 1976 in Jessheim. He is a founding member, with Silenoz and Tjodalv, of Dimmu Borgir. When the band formed in 1993, Shagrath played drums, but switched to vocals before the release of the album ''Stormblåst'' in 1996. He has also played keyboards, guitar, and bass guitar. Shagrath played guitar in Fimbulwinter (band), Fimbulwinter until the band split up in 1992. Fimbulwinter released one album, ''Servants of Sorcery'', through Hot Records (Shagrath's record label) in 1994. Dimmu Borgir () is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Jessheim, formed in 1993. The name is derived from Dimmuborgir, a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse. Old Man's Child is a Norwegian black metal band from the city of Oslo. The band is the brainchild of Galder (formerly known as Grusom; birth name: Thomas Rune Andersen) who is the only permanent member of the band. History Old Man's Child was officially founded in 1993, but its roots go back to 1989 when Galder, Jardar, and Tjodalv formed a death/thrash band called "''Requiem''". They originally played Slayer and Metallica covers but later released one demo album in 1990. "Requiem" dissolved in 1992. In 1996, after they released their first full-length album Born of the Flickering, they signed to Century Media. ''Enthrone Darkness Triumphant'' is the third studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released on 30 May 1997 through Nuclear Blast. It was the band's first release through Nuclear Blast. This is the last release to feature keyboardist Stian Aarstad and the first with bassist Nagash. Release The album has been released on many formats, including a limited edition vinyl (300 white and 1000 black). In 2002, a deluxe CD version was released with bonus material. ''Enthrone Darkness Triumphant'' was also the band's first album to display their second logo, though the old "black metal" logo is seen in the back cover artwork on the original printing. ''For all tid'' ("For All Time") is the debut studio album by Norwegian black metal band Dimmu Borgir. It was released in 1995 through No Colours. It was remastered and re-released in 1997 through their new label Nuclear Blast with the front cover art in full color and the entire ''Inn i evighetens mørke'' EP added. It is the band's only studio album on which Shagrath is on drums, Tjodalv on guitar and Silenoz on vocals. The artwork displayed on the front cover of the album is inspired by Gustave Doré's illustration of Camelot from '' Idylls of the King''. ''Inn i evighetens mørke'' (English: ''Into Eternal Darkness'') is the first EP by Norwegian black metal band Dimmu Borgir. It was first released as a demo in August 1994, and later as an EP on 17 December. The EP was released by Necromantic Gallery Productions on 7-inch vinyl limited to 1000 copies. The EP is included in the ''True Kings of Norway'' split-CD by Spinefarm Records, released in 2000; this version removes all vocals from Part I. In 2003, a bootleg version on Hat Records was released, that only contained the two-part track "Inn i evighetens mørke" and "Raabjørn speiler draugheimens skodde" was not included on this release.
